Later during the Christmas season I will make a trip down to Bethlehem on a recommendation from a co-worker. I'm curious if there is any type of Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club memorial or museum or anything at a local city museum worth checking out. Or is this era of American soccer forgotten and lost forever?

There is a plaque on the old grandstand; they renovated it and made it part of the football stadium at Moravian College. I've been planning on heading up also, just haven't had a free day for a road trip.

living in bethlehem my entire life...i can honestly say i had no idea of the history of us soccer in my backyard...given im only 20, but if i didnt stumble across bumpypitch about 4 months ago i still probably would have never heard of them and thought that a field a block away from my old high school use to hold meaningful soccer games on it... however im not sure that there is any memorbilia... i do know that because of the new casinos they have been cleaning up the old steel plant(transformers 2) and they are suppose to make it into a museum... so im assuming they might put something in there about the soccer team...but either way bethlehem is the "Christmas City", so if you do visit during december you wont be disapointed...

doing research on my roots i did stumble across this site which was very informative...

idk if any of that helped but if you have any questions about where stuff is or what there is to do in bethlehem...let me know

    Thanks for the info.

There's a great book on American soccer history called Soccer in a Football World by David Wangerin. It has fantastic stories about leagues from the teens and 20s with some stuff on the BS club.

I just did this today, walked up from south side. I think I saw the plaque from afar, but I couldn't go up to it because the stadium is gated off. Maybe I'll have to take in a Moravian football game later to get access to it.

I think the Mutter museum has some tumors from the workers they made roll uranium rods without protection.
