Messi also doesn't get as many chances for he actually keeps going after first contact.

Holding on to the last threads of what used to be a decent Debate. Messi is better and the world witnessed!

Both players are good in different areas but Ronaldo dominates many areas while Messi does not.

    In AC Milan. :p

messi and ronaldo are 2 destructive players who do things differently

ronaldo has more power, messi is better with the ball at his feet

Beckham. Look at his free kicks and how important they were/are to the clubs and national team.

Juninho. Takes one hell of a free kick.

Ronaldo. Has an interesting technique, but fails most of the time hits the wall most of the time. Not very accurate, relies on IMHO luck more that skill.

Anybody mentioned the goalkeepers who take free kicks?

I believe that Beckham averaged about 5 goals a year from free kicks during his peak, which is what Ronaldo averages now. Also, Beckham has scored 3 free kicks in competative games in the past 2 years, which is truly shocking.

In Beckham's defense, even if he did slot free kicks home for the Galaxy... no one would have cared. I don't like Beckham but can he get a Reprieve for his time on sabbatical?

Why are you taking the thread into another direction, is it because Messi can't shoot a free kick? :)

Didn't you also say Messi couldn't score headers? How did that turn out? ;)
