Best free kicker takers in the world. I haven't been around for a while so I'm not making it a poll because I'll miss some. The ones I listed are more modern. So add some to the list. (These are in no particular order.)

    David Beckham
    Juninho Pernambucano
    Ronaldinho
    Roberto Carlos
    Steven Gerrard
    Rivaldo
    Andrea Pirlo
    Shunsuke Nakamura
    Juan Roman Riquelme
    Cristiano Ronaldo

I really hate to say this but Nakamura. The goal he scored against Man Utd a couple of seasons ago was outstanding. He also scored an absolute peach against us last season at Love St. Beckhams good, but Nakamura just sneaks it!

Best free kicker from now or ever and from what distance normal 20 yds out or galazo distance over 20 yards out.

The approach is very different for the shorter one and the longer ones.

I think Roberto Carlos is more of a longer distance fk taker. A fk taker for long distance who was better then Carlos in my oppionion was another Brazilian Branco if I speeled it right. He had the typocal longer approach and the shot was unbeliable.

I thought Donadoni took real nice fks from shorter distances with the typical shorter approach.

I'm too young to have seen Donadoni play and this Branco person so can't say. Out of the people I listed I think the best at shorter distances are Beckham or Juninho.

Roberto Carlos is one of the best when it comes to long free kicks, exhibit A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5XpXU8TBoo&feature=related

All 3 good choices I think. For indirect free kicks, Andrea Pirlo deserves mention.

Beckham is in a league of his own, Roberto Carlos i don't rate as a free kick taker. From 98 to 02 he didn't score from a Free kick.

Roberto Carlos is the most overrated free kick taker in history. I'll go with Beckham for any kind of dead ball situation. For free kick shooting from long distance I'll go with Siniša Mihajlović.

I think that before we can have any meaningful discussion on this topic we really should set up some parameters.

    1. Long Distance v Short Distance.
    2. Direct v Indirect
    3. Shot on goal v Indirect shot on goal (kicking it to a teammate for a header or to kick it on goal)
    4. Do corners count towards this "best free kick taker" title.

I don't know if everyone thinks they should/shouldn't be included but when I made this thread I was not counting corner takers.

Criteria should be; you get a dead-ball somewhere and you're going to try and create a goal. Why make it more complex then that.

Because taking a free kick is a little more complex than that. Short vs long, direct vs indirect etc etc

No it's not more complex then that. You take a free-kick with the intention of creating opportunities to score. That's it. Everything else is just masturbation.

Well you may masturbate while watching but a short free kick is way different than a long one. The angles are completely different and the way the ball is kicked is different as well. Are you shoot straight on goal, are you sending it in for a header etc etc

All those criteria need to be addressed.

Juninho Pernamanbucano. The probability of him hitting the target from 35yds or less is 100%

Who's the best player in the world who is left footed, a right back, has blonde hair, is between 172 and 173 cm tall and between 23 and 24 years old, is brought up on beachfooty, has never played in La Liga, and dates japanese girls exclusively.

If you dont want to seriously participate in this thread please see yourself out of it. I don't think that anyone of us here are interested in your playing games. If you were providing a dissenting voice with out the childish antics then maybe we could continue. Otherwise the Disney forum can be foudn elsewhere on the net.
