Who is the best defender in Europe on last seasons form, Euro, etc. By the title "Best Defender in Europe" I mean they have a nationality of a European country.
Looks like someone with a brain voted. I have no qualms about putting them at number one and two. Even more so considering the others you listed in the poll.
Than my apologies for not including him in this list. That is the reason all polls should have an other option haha. I didn't know what kind of form he has been in because I don't watch Serie A often and he didn't go to Austria-Switzerland because he retired from international football I believe.

I do only have a max of 16 to choose from. But from all of the comments about Nesta I am sorry for missing him.
Including side-backs, I'd go maybe for Lahm or Evra the last season. As centrebacks, maybe for Carvalho or Vidic. In general lines, my option would be definitely Nesta.
He wouldn't get a game for my team and neither would any of the other named central defenders (either from the initial poll or subsequent posts).
That's what the rest of the thread is for, to discuss and debate. So if there was a mistake in missing key players then add them into the discussion like you have been.
