Bernardo Mota Veiga de Carvalho e Silva vs Manchester City
Ligue 1, Week 27, Sunday 20 March 2017, Stade Michel d'Ornano
Stade Malherbe Caen 0
A.S. Monaco 3 (Mbappé 13', Fabinho [P] 49'. Mbappé 81')
Moutinho started and finished while Bernardo made a cameo at 82'. Mbappé scored early on with the defenders looking bad in the photograph. Mbappé then got brought down in the box early in the second half and you know what that means Fabinho converts for 0-2. For the third Moutinho got a good cross in and Mbappé showed he can header too. Two goals and one assist, Mbappé is making headlines across the word now. Lastly, Bernardo got a rest and should be well prepared for Portugal's important game against Hungary this Saturday.
Bernardo Mota Veiga de Carvalho vs Stade Malherbe Caen
Apparently Bayern is leading the charge for him
Oh, god... please just stay at Monaco
Tbf Bayern needs someone in his position
When Coentrão was leaving Benfica I thought the Bayern option was good but he instead went to Real. I would prefer Barça just because he suits them very well, as far as real is concerned the Portuguese contingent there would be a help and maybe Ronaldo could aid his finishing, however Pepe and Coentrão maybe have 2 years left and Ronaldo is 32 (I think). Not set against Bayern maybe Sumol and RedBullSeven could elaborate on why they think it would be a bad idea.
He's better than Renato Bust-ches. So Bayern should be no issue.
You spelled European champion wrong
Correction. I spelled bench warmer wrong. My apologies. Don't worry, he doesn't play for slb anymore. No need get your feelings hurt.
Lol oh man I can't wait in a year or two when he's the best 8 in the bundesliga you're gonna look like a burro
Sure bud. Point of the original post was that Bernardo > Sanches. Therefore, it won't matter where Bernardo goes as long as he stays healthy.
I don't think he is suited for the German league. Then again he lit up their U21's last year.
I don't want to get in the middle of anyone's club rivalry, but when a 19 year old playing for a top 3 club in the world is deemed a bust because he doesn't start. That's not a poor argument, that's just straight ridiculous.
It was a joke really. Half trolling. Still, pretty ridiculous to assume Bernardo wouldn't have an impact on Bayern. He has on a different level than Sanches and doesn't require SLB-purchased refs to be effective.
Bernardo Mota Veiga de Carvalho vs Miguel Paraiso
Russia WC 2018 Qualification (Game 5), 25 March 2017, Estádio da Luz, Lisbon.
Portugal 3 (André Silva 32', Ronaldo 36', Ronaldo 65')
Bernardo started surprisingly on the bench with Santos going with a midfield 4 of Carvalho, Gomes, Quaresma and Mário with Ronaldo and André Silva on top. After the goal from A. Silva and his excellent assist for Ronaldo low drive Portugal looked untroubled going into the break 2-0. Ronaldo then actually scored from a free kick and it was a good one (more of the same please). Bernardo (67') subbed A. Silva (fastest to 5 goals [5 games] ever for Portugal, Eusebio is second, 5 from the first 6). However Santos decided to play Bernardo as a striker, hoping to maybe turn Bernardo into Germain, it did not work and the waste of his talent was in evidence in a game which Portugal was already coasting to a close. Moutinho subbed Mário at 83' for a little run around. Surprisingly easy game for Portugal but a bitter sweet appearance (finally) at Bernardo's home for Bernardo.
Friendly, 28 March 2017, Estádio do Maritimo, Madeira
Portugal 2 (Ronaldo 18', Granqvist [OG] 34')
Sweden 3 (Claesson 57', Claesson 76', Cancelo [OG] 93')
Bernardo started with a host of changes from the Hungary game with only Ronaldo being a starter again. Bernardo was again played up front and quite frankly this is &#%&*%85. Moutinho also started but both gave way at half time to Gomes and Pizzi. Sweden missed a few good chances before Gelson (who impressed) did a travela for Ronaldo's 71st Selecção goal. Sweden missed another chance before good work from Gelson/Ronaldo caused a own goal with Bernardo just behind the scorer, 2-0 HT. Marafona made some decent saves before Sweden got one back, Claesson getting his second at 76' with Portugal's players thinking about the weekend games, the shower or ...but they managed a little surge at the end but it was Sweden who gained victory on 93' with a Cancelo own goal that will haunt him for a while. Sweden beats Portugal for the first time since 1984 but this was a friendly...though Madeira deserved more, it finished 2-3, one to forget.
Coupe de la Ligue, Final, 1 April 2017, Parc Olympique Lyonnais
A.S. Monaco 1 (Lemar 27')
Paris Saint-Germain 4 (Draxler 4', Di Maria 44', Cavani 54', Cavani 90')
Both Bernardo and Moutinho started and finished. Draxler was offside for the first early goal from a pass by Di Maria. Bernardo then let in Sidibé in with a lovely dink, who found Lemar, Lemar then effortlessly scores a beauty. Crucially PSG find a second just before the break this time, Draxler finds Di Maria (onside) and it is 1-2 at HT. A few minutes after the break, Mendy who is usually superb losses the ball deep, Verratti travela finds Cavani who volleys in the third with aplomb. Late (after Dirar losses the ball) Di Maria finds Cavani (who should of had a hatrick), scores his second this time from a half volley blast. PSG were so much better on the day than Monaco, more aggression, better passing...and so are just winners of this years Coupe de la Ligue.
Bernardo Mota Veiga de Carvalho vs Paris Saint-Germain
Coupe de France, Last 8, 4 April 2017, Stade Louis II
A.S. Monaco 2 (Germain 35', Germain 45')
Lille Olympique Sporting Club 1 (El Ghazi 94')
Moutinho played the whole game while Bernardo replaced Cardona at 70'. Good work and a tidy finish by Germain gave Monaco a lead which was doubled when Cardona found Germain for his second just before the break (after Lille's Arcus had been shown a straight red 40') in a game in which Lille showed little drive. Late on El Ghazi gave Monaco's GK De Sanctis no chance from a dead ball just before the whistle. Monaco now meet PSG in one of the SF's on 26 April.
Ligue 1, Week 32, Saturday 8 April, Stade Jean Bouin
Angers Sporting Club de l'Ouest 0
A.S. Monaco 1 (Falcao 61')
Bernardo started subbed by Lemar 65' and Moutinho replaced Falcao at 83'. Bad finishing and good goalkeeping kept Monaco in the game in the first half. Dirar then assisted Falcao at 61' when it seemed that Monaco might slip up. Letellier, kept Angers in the game with some good saves before Ismaël Traore hit the post from close range but Monaco survived.
