We did very well last season; let's hope we can continue like this Cercle Brugge will be the first team in action in the 2nd EL qualification round. They will play either TPS Turku (FIN) - Port Talbot (WAL) Cercle will play their home game (in Gent) on july 15th, the return is july 22nd
CL draw: Bohemians/TheNewSaints - Anderlecht Dinamo Kiev - AA Gent EL draw: Inter Turku - Racing Genk Sibenik/Anorthosis - Cercle/TPS
Cercle beats TPS 2-1 and advances to the next round CL draw: TheNewSaints - Anderlecht Dinamo Kiev - AA Gent EL draw: Inter Turku - Racing Genk Anorthosis - Cercle
So once again, AA Gent are the only team who will fail to have any impact whatsoever on the European front. What else is new?
Anorthosis - Cercle : 3-1 (3-2 agg) Genk - Inter Turku : 3-2 (8-3 agg) Anderlecht - TNS: 3-0 (6-1 agg) Gent - Kiev: 1-3 (1-6 agg)
I know know nothing about Dinamo. I didn't even know they existed until the draw! RC Genk and the Gent police force must be pissed off.
CL: Partizan - Anderlecht 2-2 (2-2 ) Partizan win on penalties lol EL: Feyenoord - Gent 0-2 (1-0) Genk - Porto 2-4 (0-3) Brugge - Dinamo Minsk 3-2 (2-1)
Thursday night was pretty good for us. Gent won like their first game ever in Europe Brugge qualified surprisingly easy (as you would have expected when you saw the draw for the first time) Anderlecht lose on penalties (i guess they were thinking that they were shooting at rugby goals ) at least they can continue in the EL Genk had no chance against Porto, they can't be blamed for anything.
Sorry, but as a Club fan I find the Anderlecht elimination quite hilarious. The self-proclaimed greatest Belgian team can't beat a side that Club beat 4-2 away and 2-0 at home just last season.
Well they aren't "self-proclaimed" greatest. They have won 30 titles and captured European Cups as well. Also last season, they were the best team by a wide margin. And I don't think Cleo, the Brazilian striker, was on Partizan last year. To be honest, he made all the difference.
