In this thread we can discuss all the Belgian players playing outside of Belgium.

At Feyenoord we have Bart Goor and Thomas Buffel. Gil Swerts plays for ADO Den Haag. I know PSV has a few Belgian players. Wesley Sonck plays for Ajax. And I'm sure there are a lot more. Feel free to add to the list and let's discuss.

Hamburg also has Daniel Van Buyten.

The fourth keeper from Chelsea is also a Belgian, Yves Makabu Ma Kalamby.
And at Boca Juniors there's a Belgian left defender in the reserve squad, Michael Yurasowski.

Buffel didn't play today, he's still in Gullit's dog house I guess. I think Goor played well today, I didn't read any negative comments towards him.

Tim Caluwe plays at Willem II. The former keeper of WII, what was his name? He was also international, went to England. He got injured bad so his season is over.

It's Tom Caluwe. The keeper's name is Geert De Vlieger. He was to compete with David James at manchester city but tore his achilles.

Leonard is with a smaller team from the French first league now.
    Vaesen at Birmingham.
    Tom Peeters, I don't know.
Regis Genaux can't find a club.

Philippe Léonard returns to Standard after 6 seasons with Monaco an a couple of months at Nice.
Hopefully he can still play at his old level.

I'm affraid he's had his best time. At Nice he was just one of the players, nothing exceptional. He's not very old, I believe though (only 30?), but the big talent he was showing in the beginning has never really come out. Some good seasons at Standard, some gray seasons at Monaco,...
    Same story as Michael Goossens.

that's thrue, leonard isn't that good anymore, It a shame for such a talented player, Let's hop that not the same happens for Daniel Van Buyten...

Strange thing is that we haven't seen Van Buyten play very well yet. I remember his time at Charleroi, where he was an average striker, then Standard, where he just learnt the basics of defending and then he went to Marseille very fast, where he played some good seasons, but the Belgian folks could hardly see him play.
You can't say he played very good matches for the Belgian team either, so I hope we can finally see the real Van Buyten IN BELGIUM.

Thomas Buffel saw the pitch for about two minutes in Feyenoord's 1-1 draw with Vitesse. Bart Goor played for 70 minutes. Neither really did much to talk about.

Buffel is being looked at by three clubs Marseille, Borussia Monchengladbach and Anderlecht, but with the transfer window so close, I don't think he's going anywhere.

Good work everyone else with all the Belgian players. Would someone so kindly make a Belgain National Team Thread? I'd be interested to know who plays and what you guys think your chances are at making the 2006 World Cup.

As much as I like Buffel, I don't think he would fit into Anderlecht this season. Sonck would be a much better signing, as Panicfc said.

I have read in a newspaper that Sonck is not really interested by Anderlecht. So if the guy is not motivated he can stay in Holand.

Another belgian player abroad: Roberto Bisconti. He signed with OGC Nice (L1 in France).
It's another good player that leaves Standard. They buy a lot but also sell a lot.How can you build a good team with so much changes years after years ? They should take a look at Club Brugge and learn how to manage a club !

Now only Dragutinovic has to go and they have sold their soul completely. It seems lazio isn't interested anymore, so he guess he will stay.

We've got another one not yet mentioned: Tim Smolders from RBC
He was doing a good job yesterday against Vitesse with 2 goals.

He comes from FC Brugge, who bought him from Westerlo at the age of 18. He never really got a chance to play in Brugge (except for some games at the end of the season) so I think it's for the best he went to RBC.
