Even though completely different sport and result, this Super Bowl kind of reminded me of the AC Milan-Liverpool 2005 CL final.

This was the one American Football game I watched this year and I am quite happy with the result and the game. It was a great 4th quarter, but I will be sticking to the real football. I can't stand a commercial break every 5 minutes. The commercial to actualy coverage ratio is probably something like 60/40. I realize this is why the NFL can make so much money, but I can't take it. Anyway, I am not going to wade into the Rugby/NFL debate because it gets way too crazy. But suffice to say that they both cause extreme physical harm to the body.

*sigh*, whilst I can't be bothered to get too involved in the debate AGAIN, the one thing that strikes me most about posh rugby (gayboy union, not man's tut'league) is that u should score on every posession, there's no reason not to ruck and maul all the way down the field an inch at the time except those chumps don't have the ball skills not to spill it, and despite this people randomly kick downfield for no apparent reason, THEN to accomodate this they frikkin REWARD YOU for kicking the ball out of play! What sport does that!

I've most sports and most codes and I can't say I miss the "thumbs in eye stamp on hands" cheapshot mentality associated with bourgeoise egg-chasing...

I don't think they put the armband into promo pics. I'm pretty sure Terry's still the skipper

oh true, i forgot Terry was out injured. Judging by the people there, I'd predict Rio will have it.
I hope David James gets the call for keeper, he's the most competent there, IMO.

According to reports in the papers. Gerrard is meant to be captain for the game. And just because JT was Mcsvens captain doesn't mean Capello will pick him to be his captain.

Well if being the best available player in your position at a club doesn't get u picked by Cappy....

I think, or so I've heard, Capello will rotate the captaincy between Rio, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, etc. To see who the best leader is, and then he'll make his decision for the World Cup qualifiers in September.

    Superbowl was pretty boring

    7-3 till the 4th quarter

Tom Petty can still sing but he is missing his umph

Brady and the O-line sucked balls

    Sucks going 18-1

I hate the Giants. Sucked all season until the playoffs

Just because you don't understand a sport doesn't mean you should start insulting it, especially when it just shows that you don't understand it. Why is it that ignorance always seems to breed fear?

I could really start on American Football but I don't mind it, I just think rugby is a more tactically complicated game, in all honesty the most complicated thing about "Gridiron" is the plays, but apart from that you either kick it between the posts or run/throw it after hiking the ball.

While the basic point of rugby is the same, the way you arrive at scoring is a lot more complicated, and that's why I find it a more interesting sport to watch. And yes, Case would probably get snapped in two playing rugby :p

PS: You only get rewarded for kicking the ball out of play when you have a penalty and choose to kick the ball, therefore moving the penalty upfield and getting a lineout. Much the same way that if a penalty is called in NFL the ball is moved 5/10 yards up the pitch. So it's not exactly getting "rewarded" for kicking the ball out of play.

I just can't watch any American football, baseball or MLS without laughing at how commercialised things are. That's all I have to say about it...

How's everybody enjoying the African Cup of Nations?
