This should be interesting, especially given the lack of media or reporting on who is interested.

Spain, England, Scotland, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, MLS !?

    Someone should do a poll....

    Re: Beasley announcement imminent?

Hmm...assuming this news is true and that we'll know "very, very soon," then I suppose my instinct is to keep this thread open in hopes that we'll get some good news in the next couple days. If/when we do, I'll simply update the thread title and we'll go from there. Does this sound ok to folks?

My hope is that the announcement comes fast enough so that this thread doesn't turn into an exercise in silly season speculation.

I think we had this discussion a couple weeks back.

He's taking his talents to South Beach.:D

He's in America. I think one of the prodigal sons is returning.

If the Galaxy sell Landon, then they'll need a replacement at RW :D

    EDIT

That'll be my only speculative posts! Promise!

LD goes to Everton, Beasley arrives in L.A. Cancer is cured, money falls from the sky, and everything is right in the world.

Well, except for Clark starting versus Ghana....we can't fix that now...

    Okay, back on topic....

    Re: Beasley announcement imminent?

Just noticed we had two Beasley threads. This interview may predate the tweet posted above (though it is dated today so can't be too old), but in it he mentions that the official announcement should come in a week to a week and a half.

    Re: Beasley announcement imminent?

Well, since the old Beasley thread is well past its sell-by date, why don't I close that one and we can use this one?

I thought he was in South Beach.

The Beaz is taking his talents to South Beach women right now.

FWIW, he said he still loves his Chicago fans so maybe we're picking him up. Mapp is gone...

You guys would be solid if that's the case. I think Beaz is really undervalued right now. In the right system he could still dominate.

I speculate he wants one more Euro contract and then it'll be up to MLS to make him happy.

I'm thinking a club in Holland. I'll take a wild speculative stab in the dark at NAC Breda.

    Re: Beasley announcement imminent?

Considering that his style is heavily predicated on athleticism and effort ala recently departed Bucks' center Dan Gadzuric (who hilariously, Dutch journalists claimed he would have been a pro football star if he had gone that route, even though he's 6'11"), he doesn't project to age gracefully. In fact he's already declined, even though he recently just turned 28. By the time his next contract has expired, he'd only project to be backup caliber even in MLS. Maybe Booce will be keeping a spot warm for him in LA like all of the other former national teamers he coached who are now passed their prime.

But if he wants to make an impact on football stateside then it would behoove him to seriously consider MLS today, as long as the wage is competitive. I don't think that should indicate he's waiving the white flag when the league appears to be making somewhat of a surge currently and he could have a part in at least propelling it to at least beyond Scottish Premier or Norwegian Tippeligaen levels.

definitely agree. i dont know why people cant see his upside. He should have gone in against Ghana to help spread the field.

I don't understand coaches who cant find a place for beez during the course of a 90minute match.

    Re: Beasley announcement imminent?

He says in the interview with the Ft. Wayne reporter that he will be in Europe, that's he isn't coming back next season to MLS, and that his mother won't be too happy about that. He also says it will be a new country and a new experience, which rules out Scotland and suggests that it isn't Holland or England.

Pure speculation on my part, but I believe we'll see several more pages of speculating before a mod closes this thread nano-seconds before a club (located somewhere on this planet) makes an announcement that puts an end to BS speculation.
