season 6 starts with the Cup matches on 14 January.

the players are all one year older and the WC just got over. The Windies got crushed in the final against the Aussies, but it was great to have the Windies in the final.

I'm not sure what to expect this season. I fluked into a playoff to promote last season, so I'm hoping to get 1st by actually beating the team in 2nd. I'm hoping my bank roll will be able to get me a solid bat, but the transfer market is all over the place. I should have two stamina pops to superb by halfway in the season, so then I can put all the nets into primaries and crap for my two trainees.

Demoted into III.15. The #2 team is pretty solid but I should manhandle most of the other teams. Anything less than auto promotion back to D.II will be a disappointment.

Going to need an uber yute pull or a big purchase to push me over the top in II.1 I think I can challenge for a podium spot regardless but winning and promoting will be improbable.

Ok my work is blocking battrick again so I hope someone can give me updates, as I leave for my morning commute (8am in the snowy midwest today!) here is the latest:

Boris Raiders v KC Googlies (979548)

    End of Over 5: 26-0, runrate=5.20, reqrunrate=4.33 (220-1)

So I kept him down to 220 and I am off to a good start.

    Any updates get rep :)

Rep pile on. You, sir, are a star!!

Strydom was an expensive purchase I made last season, he is finally getting some runs.

The team I am playing was relegated from III and quite good. But I *should* win. Thanks Bluto! :)

It's nice having a destructive top-order bowler, as more often than not he manages to nick one of the top bats on the other side to get my attack rolling.

Norse has five wickets down, including Windies NTer Dove. It's by no means a sure thing, but I'm feeling pretty good about how the match is going.

i got smoked. it is what happens when you go up against an exceptional and a sensational bowler. i should've put my pitch to dusty since he has useless spin and i have a superb/remarkable spinner. damn

Won my first league match while TIE... wasn't the best performance by my trainee fast bowler BUT I won anyway so that's a morale and fitness boost. I'll take it.

Won today while TIE... happy to do so but a worrying performance by my trainee fast bowler. Didn't pick up any wickets and in addition, my all rounder got pasted.

Hopefully things go my way next time.

Well, my all rounder has been replaced... yet to be seen if he'll remain in the line up strictly as a batsman. The pick up I made is still trainable and is currently my 3rd best bowler. He will be trained in bowling and batting as well as fitness and fielding when I can afford the nets. I'll have to go easy on the nets for now, but once he recovers fitness I expect him to be able to bat in the middle order.

I finished 2nd last season, playing the guy who finished 3rd today.

He made 289-4, so a tough challenge for me to get 290.

Not a good reply losing my remarkable/remarkable opener in the first over.

    I can't ********ing believe this...

    End of Over 12: 48-5, runrate=4.00

    Makes no sense.

Its a dusty pitch and he posts useless spin bowling consistently. Even so, he only has strong pace bowling. I should be ********ing clobbering this shit, My top order is quality+

    I lost.

Really odd, four teams who lost last week, all won this week.

So all 8 teams tied on 4 points!!!

Miraculous recovery to 173 all out. 40 odd from a feeble batsman (he's a bowler)!!

Amazing recovery... now I'm going to lose anyway, but atleast its not going to be embarrasing. On a slow pitch (was supposed to be dusty) that might not be impossible to defend.

There really isn't a newbie thread.

If you need to buy players, there should be some early 17-yo players who aren't up to U20 snuff but would be more than adequate for you to train up... I'm thinking ones that are competent in a primary skill.
