Battery take on the Hammerheads. Game should be live on usllive Their should be a good showing of Battery supporters heading up the coast with about 40 committed to the match so far. No Quarter preview here Should be a good match up between two teams that haven't played each in a competitive match in the past but have played several preseason matches over the years.
Battery preview here http://www.charlestonbattery.com/matches_previews.asp?cid=485 And the Battery add midfielder Diego Walsh http://www.noquartersoccer.com/2011/05/veteran-midfielder-diego-walsh-joins.html
Good mention of the Regiment and the Southern Derby in Tom Grady's great blog http://hammers.blogs.starnewsonline.com/10812/hammerheads-notebook-vol-5/?pa=all&tc=pgall
The Regiment's supporter bus is getting ready to head out to Wilmington! Looking forward to it! Up the Battery
Game took a while to settle down, but Hammerheads scored in the 26th minute from Luke Mulholland, good finish.
Mulholland scores again 2-0. What a goal! Hammerheads had a corner and it was hit back post, Mulholland came running in and took a volley with the inside of his right foot and scored. It was too quick for the Charleston Keeper to react.
Convincing win for Wilmington tonight, wonder if the disallowed goal for Charleston was really offside, couldn't really tell from this camera angle. Not sure how much of a difference it would have made, would have been 1-1 at the time, but Wilmington played a better first half and had more chances. 2nd half is hard to judge with the Charleston disallowed goal and the red card.
