As the end of the year is near (and generally it wasn't a good year for Polish football) I would like to inform you about one thing that was not much underlined by media and I think may be found interesting. In last weekend First Division (Polish second tier) game between Znicz Pruszkow and GKS Katowice, Bartłomiej Kędzierski came on as a substitute playing his first league game for Katowice. Bartłomiej is 17 year old striker of GKS youth setup and he got his first chance in senior team, what wouldn't probably be nothing very interesting. But the whole thing is Bartłomiej is one-armed football player. I don't know about anyone like him playing on similar level in modern football. Well, someone who wants to be very funny can say that you don't need hands in FOOTball (unless you are goalkeeper, Thierry or Diego) but anyone knows how important hands are for right balance, and generally to take advantage on football pitch. I'll be following the news about this young guy, one day he can be hero as every disabled sportsman who can compete with healthy professionals. http://www.90minut.pl/kariera.php?id=16150
Acutally, there was a one armed player named Håkan Söderstjerna who have played for Landskrona BOIS in the Swedish first division, and for Fredrikstad in the Norwegian first division. He retired not to long ago. http://www.svenskafans.com/image/1/37433.jpg
