To be fair to you, it was a believable quote. I'm not sure Kraft knows much about Jones.

    Nice article by the Globe:

And all of a sudden, when they watched Jones, they didn’t just see the studs-up challenges, the yellow cards, the suspensions (including an eight-gamer for stomping on an opponent in 2010). They began to see a playmaking midfielder who wants the ball and can do something creative with it. Instead of disparaging Jones’s hard-tackling style, critics termed it inspiring. Jones’s leadership qualities emerged, he showed he could make less-experienced teammates better.

Instead of questioning Jones’s loyalties, doubters began embracing his German-American background. Having grown up not knowing his father had been imprisoned made Jones a sympathetic figure. The dreads and the tatts? Good for drawing attention to the league. As for the glamorous offseason lifestyle, SoCal mansion, beauty queen wife — who knew?

Somewhere Klinsmann is smiling and thinking that the media and fans are finally figuring out why JJ was a lock starter and core leader of the USMNT.

sure glad you are thinking of joining us. Tom needs a tough slot guy who can catch the ball over middle like Wes used to do.

JJ: I can do that. How much are you willing to pay?

    Xolos would be interesting.

As for MLS Transfers, he's actually one of my favorite twitter accounts, usually has a good scoop or two.

Hmmm with Piojo potentially in TJ too I could see this happening.

But will he be able to pick up enough Spanish to be able to communicate with his teammates?

Yeah, I really don't get the hate that MLS Transfers gets. He's certainly not one of the best insiders, but he occasionally is right about some things, answers way more fan questions on twitter than most and his commentary on MLS matches is usually very good.

I hope Jones signs with a team where he doesn't take playing time away from potential US internationals or potential US youth internationals. Besides that, I don't really care, and I don't want him on the NT anymore.

Is that what they are willing to pay him in salary or for the transfer?

I believe he's on a free. That salary is ridiculous. I'd give him about 200k.

    I amend that, between 200k and 450k.

Take a look at MLS salary figures. Non-designated players don't make more than around 450k. I don't believe Jones is designated player level anymore. He's gotten a lot worse in the last year, he has tons of injury concerns and he's also prone to crazy behavior on the pitch. You can live with Jones being on a designated player contract along with his antics and injuries if you are getting JJ of 2014, but not Jones of 2015.

As a Revs fan, I'm glad that the team (seemingly) isn't willing to give him an expensive multi-year contract. Jones was dynamite down the stretch in 2014 but this year he's either been injured or much less influential.

Of course as a Revs fan, I also don't have much faith that the team will be able to acquire a replacement on the international market, so hopefully some sort of domestic miracle occurs. But that's a story for another thread.

I can deal with that. Itd be shocking for him to be comfy for like 300 K. Id guess he should settle for no less than 750 K a year wherever he goes.

I take it he doesnt wanna return to Germany
