http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/2015-16/1/tm-news--11517-8760-.html Looks like the Morris signing is now off as the deal breaks down. Eichin: "The player has made it clear after intensive discussions that he currently sees future in America. This decision we respect of course. But we will continue to maintain close contact with him and consider a future collaboration."
These are surprising news. It seemed like he made a good impression. But ok, if he think it does not fit, then we need to respect this. Although it is sad because Werder has to look now for another option, maybe loan a benchwarmer with potential from a top club.
About the Lukimya relacement there are rumors that Werder (among other clubs) plans to loan Papy Djilobodji from Chelsea. http://www.kreiszeitung.de/werder-bremen/werder-bremen-kommt-papy-djilobodji-chelsea-6047134.html
Too bad Thy isn't returning this winter yet, but we might have to make do with the forwards we have for now. Key factor may be when Johannsson is healthy again and if he can make a positive impact. He was the signing that we were all counting on initially. Lorenzen is another wildcard of course, if he's able to stay fit. Hopefully the attacking midfielders like Grillitsch, Bartels, Oztunali, and Kleinheisler can step up and help provide for additional goals. I read about that Djilobodji guy too. Looks like it'll only be a short term loan without purchase option. He appears to have decent experience though and should give us time to find a more permanent player in the summer. Jesper Verlaat from the reserves could be someone who's ready if he continues to steadily improve.
Kleinheisler signing now official, with a new contract until 2019. http://www.werder.de/en/profis/57720.php
Die 1. Einheit in Bremen ist überstanden, Laszlo hat einen kurzen Gruß für euch dargelassen. ✌https://t.co/20M6GNkbS2— SV Werder Bremen (@werderbremen) January 20, 2016
According to Bild, Aycicek is set to go on loan to 1860 Munich till end of the season. They won't have a purchase option though. http://www.transfermarkt.de/levent-...m/154/thread_id/1017248/page/2#anchor_2263516
Papy Djilobodji joins on loan for remainder of the season. There's no purchase option set up, but the rental fee of €400,000 can decrease depending on the amount of games he plays. Hope he can help solidify the central defensive rotation considering that was one of our major weaknesses in the Hinrunde.
Aycicek's loan to Sechzig is finalized http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...ycicek_ich-fand-sechzig-schon-immer-cool.html
Because of Bargfredes injury (out for two month) Werder looks for a substitue. One option could be Ogenyi Onazi from Lazio Rome. The market value of the 23 years Nigerian is probably too high for a purchase, but maybe Werder and Lazio could agree on a loan deal. http://www.kreiszeitung.de/werder-bremen/werder-bremen-kommt-jetzt-onazi-6063398.html Felix Kroos though does not seem to be considered as an option by Skripnik. Against Schalke he was not in the match squad and he thinks about leaving the green-white (when an interesting club makes an offer).
Bargfrede missing significant time every year is a mandatory thing that we've unfortunately had to get used to. At least we have Junuzovic fit and ready to go. A midfield of Grillitsch, Junuzovic, Fritz, and Oztunali could work, although we lose a bit of defensive coverage. I don't mind giving Lukas Fröde a chance at the DM spot. I'm a big supporter of the kid. He subbed on late during the Schalke game. And looks like we've switched our plan and intend to keep him for the Rückrunde now.
Rumor: Werder is about to sign Gerhard Tremmel. The experienced GK is currently only a benchwarmer for Swansea. He could make some pressure on Wiedwald, which is currently not given with Raphael Wolf and Michael Zetterer both being long-term injured. http://www.transfermarkt.de/bericht...vor-wechsel-zu-werder-bremen/view/news/224600
Instead of an Onazi loan, Werder covers Bargfrede injury by a new signing. Sambou Yatabare joins from Greek top club Olympiakos Piräus. Yatabare is a 26 years defensive midfielder, who played the last half year on a loan deal at Standard Liege. Rumors say Liege received a part of the transfer fee. Anyways, welcome to Werder, Sambou. http://www.werder.de/de/profis/news/57853.php And here is the Gerhatd Tremmel confirmation. Also a nice welcome to Werder for him. http://www.werder.de/de/profis/news/57850.php
I'm happy with these moves. They fit the role that we need and budget we have to work with. Hopefully Yatabare can provide the stability in central midfield that's been missing for majority of this campaign. Meanwhile Felix Kroos going out on loan to Union Berlin till the end of the season. Shame he didn't really fit into Skripnik's plans, but I hope he's able to regain his form and confidence. He's still relatively young and could become a decent player at the Bundesliga level.
Transfer rumor and news of the day. A Chinese club, Guangzhou Evergrande made an offer of 13 Mio + bonuses for Anthony Ujah. Schröder confirmed that the offer was received however it got rejected. Ujah's presence to the team is much more important for the team right now. http://sportbild.bild.de/bundesliga...-ujah-lehnen-mega-deal-ab-44356410.sport.html
Another new defender on the way. Milos Veljkovic is said to be travelling to Bremen to complete his medical on Monday. The 20 year old Serbian-Swiss was previously with Tottenham's reserves. According to Kreiszeitung, he's available on a transfer of around € 300,000. He brings a good playing resume, having won a U19 Euro and U20 World Cup with those Serbian youth teams. http://www.kreiszeitung.de/werder-b...tottenham-hotspur-premier-league-6081924.html
Vejlkovic is a long-term project but is already looking potentially like a great find. He was mentioned here as one of the best under-the-radar signings on deadline day. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2612956-best-under-the-radar-signings-on-transfer-deadline-day
Looks like we probably won't be going to Belek anymore, as a new winter training camp destination is being considered. http://www.weser-kurier.de/werder/w...ehrt-wohl-nicht-nach-Belek-_arid,1474040.html
Spain will be the new winter training camp destination, exact location within the country will be determined soon. http://www.weser-kurier.de/werder/w...Werder-faehrt-nach-Spanien-_arid,1485888.html
