I have a hard time believing a player from Tigre is making US $250k a year, personally.

This really surprises me, seeing the highest salary in most SA sides, it is at least matched by the MLS. Im surprised more SA's havent come to the US to take advantage of the financial situation we got down here, aka get your paycheck on time.

I remember in 2002 the highest paid player in Olimpia was Miguel Angel Benitez who had arrived from Espanyol and he had salary of $30,000 per month.

I have no idea about the salaries in Paraguay in the present but I do know for a fact that Libertad has a lot of money and pays a lot of money to their players.

Yeah i thought it was a bit exaggerated, but then again i don't think anyone else gets paid as much as him at Tigre. For example that may be the average salary for a player of Boca or River. Also even Tigre is a relatively "small club" it is a club with good budget not very different from Quilmes which could be a similar case.

Also to add to this case, background information says that Comparada promised Denis that if he stood at Independiente a while longer he'd be the best paid forward of Argentina, however any number remains unknown.

Tigre also has a decent amount of attendance. I believe this past tournament they were averaging more than 20,000 per home match.

I've been to some of their matches and i would dare to say that they have always been above 25,000 and if it wasn't full it was mostly because of away supporting being low. As i said in another thread they are actually thinking of possible and necessary expansion of their stadium.

Cost of living probably play a big factor and then of course there is the competition level. That's why most of the Brazilians that go to the MLS come from small teams with the exception of Denilson.

un ejemplo de las noticias de hoy: el nuevo DT del recien descendido corinthians de brazil ganara 200,000 dolares por mes!

yo se que es el equipo mas popular de brazil, pero 200k por mes? No se lo gana un DT de seleccion

Bielsa is, now could be said was, best paid coach of a south american national team and doesn't get that money. Also we are talking about a 2nd division club...

Do you mean he gets less than that or more?

Also, in regards to the question originally posed on this thread..the best paid played on my team (Stgo. Wanderers) was Argentine Luis Alberto Benitez, and he was making US $5k a month during the "Apertura". So 5x6 (6 months he was there), he earned US $30k and he sucked . So in Chilean currency, he made a little over $14 mill. pesos (better than decently good money, specially if one considers my team is pretty much broke)

No, eso esta mal. Bielsa (y todo su cuerpo tecnico) se embolsa US 1.5 millones por anho.

Home games in Chile during the WCQ should be producing a revenue of about $1 Million each.

I read that ANFP gets over US 1 million only from ticket sales revenues. This is not counting advertising, TV rights, etc.
