Most salaries are not really known except for the bigger names. There is also a huge disparity between what the big teams pay (Beitar Jerusalem, Maccabi Haifa) and what the other smaller budgets (Hapoel & Maccabi Tel Aviv, F.C. Ashdod etc.)

I think that Walid Badir, a national team player with Hapoel Tel Aviv makes around US $60,000 per annum. I think that Haifa wanted to give him only US $40,000 and that is why he left. They kept lowering his salary.

    Average Player Salaries in Israel

Fascinating! In America's Major League Soccer (MLS), college graduates and other local talent who are undrafted and unheralded get either a so-called "developmental" contract - can be as little as US$ 15K - or a full roster minimum of around US$ 30K. This contracts are basically renewed year to year, so the young player must basically prove himself over and over again without real job security.

For a player to come in and initially sit on the bench until he proves himself, for a mid-table Israeli team, he might expect a comparable salary in 2008?

Also, there are foreign player limits in the Israeli league, right?

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

    Cheers,
    Maverick

Is the New Zealander named Chris James training with Kiryat Shmona the same one from Fulham?

Then the average player makes 60,000 US? That's not better than the MLS.
