Fahad Al-Hamdan was a great centre-forward, but he was already at the end of his career in the late 90's. I think Riyadh had more players in the '94 WC squad than either Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad or Al-Nasr! Riyadh are in the first division right now, and they barely escaped relegation to the second division this season. They did, however, reach the round of 16 in the Crown Prince Cup this year, going out to Ettifag. Abdullah Al-Sheehan (remember him?) was playing for them this season, but they sold him to Al-Raed in January.
2 years ago ART showed Riyadh x Ahli match in Crown Prince Cup. I sheered a lot, although we lost...but we played well for a 2nd tier team. Bizarre that Riyadh is older than Hilal and Nasr...
http://www.stadiumzone.net will have the average attendances and stadium pictures of several Saudi Arabian clubs online soon.
Saudi stadiums are now being outfitted with electronic ticket readers to gauge attendance so we should be seeing some saudi attendance figures in the near future.
I can't determine I how much the average of attendance in each Saudi stadium, one thing I'm sure of. They really love football.
The problem is that most saudis only show up for the big games such as finals or derbies like Hilal vs Nasr, Hilal vs Ittihad or Ittihad vs Ahli. Those games can see attendances of 30'000+ but most of the time attendances barely crack 1000+ for most clubs.
I dont support it..Ittihad has averge attendence of 10000 in evry match. Its same with Hilal,Nasser and some what with Ahli.
