Ha- they just brought on Mooy, but from behind in the lights, it looked like a bald guy- and I was thinking "Hang on- I thought Bresc retired..."
0-0 v Macedonia Pretty uninspiring match to watch. There was more action in the first ten minutes of last weeks friendly than in 90 minutes today. We had a few new players in the mix, but that's what friendlies are for. We didn't really create enough chances today and whilst we controlled possession well at the back and in midfield, there wasn't much spark up front today. Hopefully we learn from today's match as there will be plenty of times in World Cup Qualifying that we will need to break down defences. Macedonia's tactics were to defend and try to make quick breaks. We made plenty of chances against a German team that was happy to go forward when they had the ball, but very few against a weaker team that made sure they had 8-9 players behind the ball. Also Leckie needs to work on his finishing.
Would be good to organise a friendly with Russia or one of the other ex soviets before playing Kyrgyzstan
Friendly against Egypt on 13. October ? http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsCon...h-Cuper-agrees-to-October-friendly-with-.aspx
Not on the Socceroos website but they will play in Jordan on the 8th, and don't have a game on the 13th in AFC qualification so Egypt would be a good choice for an opponent.
Despite saying last week the Pharaohs would take on Cameroon and Australia on October 8 and October 13, respectively, the EFA revealed the cancellation of these two matches and confirmed a new opponent: Les Lions of Senegal. http://www.kingfut.com/2015/09/18/egypt-to-face-senegal-in-october/

Putting my pedantic cap on here, it could more accurately be described as the Australian Squad for the match against England.
Our next game is this Saturday night (well early morning) against England. This is on a non-FIFA allocated date so Asian players and some European players (e.g. Amini) were not available. Our next two games are then on FIFA sanctioned dates, and we play Greece twice within a few days in Australia (4th and 7th June). Should be a great atmosphere and bit of tension for those games.
