Thank you guys. I could easily find a pub just in front of the stadium.

    But...
We were not good enough to win over.
I am deeply, deeply disappointed now.

Its a shame as I wanted us to play you guys in the semi, to avenge 2011. Although the football result wasn't what you wanted I hoped you liked your time travelling around Australia.

Yeh, AUS x JPN match will never be a game like last night. Always 50/50.
But all over. This is football.

Maybe we will meet at next WC qualifications again.;)

I don't know if this is proper post here but,

I am thinking of skipping Newcastle game.
So if someone looking for a ticket, please send PM.
I have Cat2 in BAY2, only 1 tix. At face price $80. Meeting at Sydney central area. (I am staying Pyrmont and don't have cellphone tho.)

I will be in Sydney until Monday morning and when nobody send me, I might go to Newcastle.

    @BUDOKAN

If I were You, As a neutral I would go the game to just enjoy the round of the full game mood with the locals fans in the stadium . ;) its a Fifa Tournament, and so far so good its been nice cup journey for the Aussie'S wonderful hospitalities.

    Back to the main thread:

I hope Aussie goes all the way the grand finale…

    Good luck Guys.

I'm kind of hoping we go back to 2 defensive mids for the UAE game, not to be negative but to sure up our defense and not allow the opposition to score early and put 11 behind the ball, but more so as Milligan and Mile have been our more creative and pentrating mids.
Their distribution is better than anyone else we have in the middle.

Hopefully the weather picks up. Looks like it might be a wet soggy pitch.

Ange won't change his system. We will stick with a 4-3-3. However, I would like to see Milligan as our DM and Jedinak moved up as a box-to-box CM whilst Luongo is given a bit more freedom.

Hmmmmm- Franjic didn't look too good at the end there. Without Herd as well- who have we got that can play right back?

I don't want to move Sainsbury there, as he's playing so well in the middle, but I guess Wilko would know a lot about the Koreans as well though.

I think the commentators were speaking about possibly playing Milligan at RB. Going to be a tough match. Korea have some quality wingers, especially #7 who will tear our LB or RB apart if we aren't careful.

Thanks mate. Unlucky for Korea Rep. It was hard to watch some of your players crying after the game because your team has been completely respectful the whole tournament. Hopefully you guys win one soon. You deserve it.

And commiserations to the Koreans- provided a great game, worthy finalists, and I'm sure we'll be rivals for years to come, with both our young squads. Well done to our boys though- to mentally come back after that late goal was bloody brilliant. ;)

Well done to Australia - winning the ACL & Asian Cup at once WITH both teams being managed by Australians.
That is quite an achievement there.

Ange and the team did brilliantly to come back from a moment like that. Not many would have mentality picked themselves up. I personally thought it would be beyond us after that especially cause we had made all 3 subs due to injury - not to actually have a positive impact on the match.

What can you say about that! Absolutely brilliant.

I watched the game from the casino in Cairns and there was a great atmosphere in there with everyone decked out in Socceroos kits and quite a few Korean tourists chanting and cheering on the Taeguk Warriors. And the Aussies chanting back twice as hard.

I thought the Koreans pressed us really hard and played very well. But what a piece of magic by Luongo. You just felt that the game was so tight that it needed a moment like that to break it open.

I was worried about our ability to score again given the substitutions that were forced through injury but never doubted our fortitude to keep fighting it out. I think that never give up attitude is a defining characteristic of our national team.

Really proud Australian football fan today!

Great spectacle from both teams, 28 players lifted and made it a joy to watch, pity the guy in black wanted to get in on the action as well only to embarrass himself.
South Korea were worthy opponents and like the Aussies were a level above the rest of the teams in this Cup.
I thought Aust could have put it away earlier with cleaner passing and taking better options up front as Korea pushed forward but we lacked the final blow.
As much as the myth of South Korea being the better team floats about Aust were the better team and in control for longer periods of the match except for the 10 minute burst before Luongos goal and early in the second half.

Well done to the Club and National Champions of Asia.
