Can't believe it has already been four years since the last Asian Cup here in Qatar.... Say what they may about Asian football, but in terms of cultural diversity - there's no other Confederation in the world that encapsulates such a variety of people and cultures. I really enjoyed going to the games 4 years ago and seeing the myriad of different fans, as well as the games themselves. You're going to be in for a real treat + Good luck Socceroos!
Thanks. Game day- lets see how they go. There has been a media ramp up, but I'm not sure most people are even aware its on!
trying to synch the time of the game to here in Doha... kickoff is 7.30 pm Melbourne time? I'm assuming that's around 11.30 am Qatar time....
Most pundits think Bresciano will start ahead of Luongo, and Wilkinson ahead of Sainsbury. The rest of that line-up seems about the consensus. Except maybe Tommy Oar.
It's actually cold and wet here in Melbourne today, for the kick-off to the tournament. Very unexpected conditions for Summer. Temperature at kick-off time will only be 16 degrees, with a 50% chance of rain.
I predicted Australia wins 1-0 against Kuwait. I hope Australia wins today. We are with you today Socceroos.
Amazing performance. Best I have seen Australia. This Australia team is really one to look out for. I was amazed by their physical, offensive and fast-paced football. They are going to win the Asia Cup if they keep this performance up.
I was happy that they didn't get put off by the early goal. Well done lads, they let Kuwait have a few very good chances themselves, but as long as they keep scoring, then it will balance out. Props to the referee- good game by him, kept good control.
