'The third stage of their plan will be the formation of an international club tournament, possibly a Pacific Rim competition in Australia, with regional teams drawn from Africa, Asia and the United States, starting in early 2006.'

When I was doing one of many interviews with current Parramatta Power coach Nick Theodorakopoulos last year, this was something that he was talking about that was central to the overall reform of Australian soccer. Time will tell, but the first steps are in place to see something like this come to fruition.

And if and when it does, imagine the possibilities... a Melbourne United, per sé, against the San Jose Earthquakes. OK, well, that's my vision of the situation. :D

And would I be able to attend BOTH legs... hmmmmmmm...

Like everything else amongst the flux that is Australian soccer, we'll have to wait and see.
