    Germany U21 leads Wales 1-0.
Goal by Hack after a nice throughball by Fein.

Hack makes it 2-0 but will likely be credited as OG.

good start to the U21 campaign. Liking Baku and Schlotterbeck so far.

Hack completes a possible hat trick as he makes it 3-0. Scores a header from a Schlotterbeck cross.

looks like 2nd goal credited as OG.

Schlotterbeck well played from the left

A good CB who can play LB, how nice

Surprised Hack made that crazy header for the 3rd. Should’ve been Serra’s goal but it was Hack who won the aerial duels against the Welsh

    Serra was out of position

J.Eggestein with a fantastic header to make it 4-0, assist by Schlotterbeck (a CB who's playing LB).

Schlotterbeck actually said his favourite position is at LB . So he’s more like a LB playing CB in Freiburg

He’s big so people thought Cb is his preferred position. But I guess he’s equally comfortable at both positions nowadays

Serra is totally out of form. Lost all the instinct, No wonder why he’s left out in Kiel nowadays

Very concerning. Since March, he lost all the good form

well it's obvious why Schlotterbeck is starting since he's better than Handwerker who looks set to lose his FCN spot to Nurnberger.

I expect different LB call ups next break.

    Schlotterbeck can even dribble wow

I like Fein’s long passes and coverage. Impressed

    Czyborra is better than Handwerker

    Let’s see

Serra subbed out , very disappointing performance

Eggestein can even take the ball forward now .

Jojo has made a huge step forward. Physically looking stronger and look at his ability to take on defenders

    Kilian is a no-nonsense CB

Kuntz like a CB of this type to partner a ball playing CB like Tah n Baumgartl

    Baumgartl was the no-nonsense one

not surprised about Serra did say I believed that he could easily miss out this U21 cycle and it does seem like it could happen.

I hope he finds his form at Kiel though, potential is still there.

likely due to Kohfeldt who keeps playing him at RW, there he is forced to constant back and forth running and forced to take on defenders. I feel like when he's played W he is less involved in box for club.

as for physically well he did improve last Summer. A lot of these guys are hard to judge properly when younger and lacking physically.

    Defensively he is playing wide

Offensively When Baku got the ball, Jojo goes in middle and attacking half spaces

He doesn’t play like a winger, more like a supporting striker.

could see that happening, did well in U20. I think it'll be between Winztheimer, Otto, Kruger could depend on club form over next month. Daferner if he can play more could be another option.

    Jojos heatmap

He only stays slightly right, it’s Baku who provides the width

Jojo’s position is like a supporting forward in a two striker formation, slightly right attacking half spaces

Hack more like a left wing and u don’t meed the same tactics on both flanks

    Like Mane playing “LW”

I don't like on him Wing anyways, to me you need top speed to really be effective there, he doesn't have it. He works better centrally. And yeah I do recall he prefers more SS but he's basically better off learning how to play CF since most clubs don't use SS.

looks like J.Eggestein is captain this U21 season, interesting.

also liked how Kuntz rotated the XI from previous game and still leading 5-1.

Prefer a big targetman to replace Serra. Some
Option off the bench at least

Was thinking Roczen n Breunig, if both play this season. Breunig is recovered btw

So is Arne Maier, joined training today

    On paper it’s a 433

But both wingers are playing centrally n u can see width is provided by fullbacks

The two wingers are inside forwards. Hack is more winger type who attack the flank

When u look at the heat map after the match, offensively it’s like a two striker formation

Right side Baku will attack more from the right, Jojo will go middle in that case

They overload the left. Right side is mainly for second balls

Many teams have such tactics nowadays.

It’s a 433 when defensive. But 4312 offense, and the one is slightly left (Hack in this case)

Marco Rose used such in Salzburg too. Overload left n make right side the “weak side”, so more chance for second ball

said it last season and I'll say it again, Germany is much more effective in U20-U21 level while lacking in U15-U19. Seems like physically behind, school, less dev/maturity play a huge role in all of this. Also coaches like to many players that lose relevance as you advance in age groups and tons players gain relevance once they hit those late levels.

would say this has been a good start to the next season from U16-U21!!!

Nope and nope, we aren't calling up 2 3rd Liga players in U21. It's 1st and 2nd division players, only exception is GK.

and Breunig is eligible for next cycle anyways as a 00.
