so Stuttgart 1st team took 5 players to 1st team Summer Camp.
    99-Grozinger, chance with 1st team
    00-Mack, chance with 1st team
01-Dajaku (leaving for Bayern), Aidonis (skipping last U19 season for II), Hornung (skipping last u19 season to play Stuttgart II)

VfB talent Luca Mack is one of two club-own junior players who currently have chances to make it into the final squad. Coach Tim Walter relies on the blond - for reasons.

Grözinger and Mack are both still there. Because both are absolutely on par with their competitors. Grözinger is at least equal on the left-back position in the fight with Emiliano Insua and Borna Sosa. Mack, on the other hand, has a lot more competitors - because he can play in several positions. Trained in the youth for the central midfield on the so-called six-position, Mack impresses with game overview, rest on the ball, both feet strong passing game. So much so that his trainer Nico Willig made him his "quarterback" last season in the U19. Mack usually acted in a defense triple chain as a free man, who controlled the game, relocated, pulled up. Sometimes before, sometimes behind the two cleaners who put Willig aside. The fact that the team was in the championship final and the DFB Cup brought was also Macks merit, the captain of this strong vintage.

    Polyvalence as a trump card
Under Tim Walter Mack played so far as a classic center-back in a back four on the left position. If necessary, the coach also moved him into midfield, even on the half position - Mack also did this job solid. Sports director Sven Mislintat sees in him even a possible option as a backup solution for the set as right-back Pascal Stenzel. "Luca can play this, I'm not worried," says Mislintat, who sees Mack's versatility as his "big asset." "In Tim Walter's system, with the roles changing all the time, it benefits him more than he does not have an absolutely solid position."

Mack has so far disproved many observers and experts
Many experts and regular observers of Stuttgart youth work have the son of Hoffenheim young director Dirk Mack not hoped for this leap. Too slow, too weak, too little specialized Mack, to grab it to the top, they judged. So far, he disproves these judgments day after day in the units and test matches of preparation.

essentially the still U19 eligible were left out while the non U19 eligible are given chances. Really does seem like Dajaku would have headed to OL. Also look at how people didn't rate Mack who was Stuttgart U19 captain and very flexible player. Explains why he's ignored by dfb........and imagine he becomes a starter at Stuttgart...........lol

not about Burkardt specifically but it's funny how much teams park the bus vs Germany at all levels. I mean look at the 1st clip, you had Osterhage in midfield who assisted Burkardt, you had Burkardt and Hottmann in the middle. That's 3 German players vs 7 Croatians+GK. Sheesh. Osterhage by himself was smack in the middle of the Croatians. The next game Norway, they scored a tap in from a GK parry and parked the bus all game but we dominated all the games.

The 02 age group, have plenty of interesting strikers and wingers/AM (including ignored players too) and dominated even against parking the bus but just couldn't finish their million chances in U17 last season. Even players who scored left and right for club kept missing, lol. Although excusable given they were only 16-17 years old. Still a long ways to go and it's a good lesson to learn. I believe a player from that squad stated that it was a good learning curve for the players even if they didn't play to their full potential/ability.

it really reiterates why Germany need more dribbling Wingers/AM and dribbling strikers as well. Although felt like a good chunk of the 03s who played for NT can dribble although that was U16 NT still too early for them.. Neverending passing until you find a hole to score will not always work. It's also too limited in thinking and based on recent results not really working well vs very solid/organized parking the bus teams. We do have such players and I think 1BL wise and even senior NT wise, the players who are fast and dribblers and have good efficiency will find it easier to breakthrough in both club and country than those that don't. Simply because clubs and country want potential difference makers these days.

it's also telling that Low's ideal striker is Suarez too. Not a Gomez/Giroud or another type of striker.

and I think that was the killer blow vs Norway U19 instead of playing dribblers like Yeboah or Burkardt we played Jastrzembski instead in LW. Had we done so the attacking 3 would have dribbling skills+build up play too. That was a big mistake on the coach's part, Jastrzembski is not a bad player (Hertha likes him too) but vs parking the bus teams??? He's a player who's mostly all about speed, he uses his speed to get by defenders and overall works better with more space. There is a lot less parking the bus in 1BL than there will be playing for Germany. For Germany, it's almost a parking the bus by default setting for most teams, which is very annoying.

I think NT wise Jastrzembski is more fitting vs tired legs, run directly at fatigued defenders so better used as a sub than starter.

    Bosz has selected
    01-Azhil
    02-Onur, Turkmen and Schlosser

to continue with the 1st team due to absence of some players. 00-Boller is unfit as well.

really is interesting how our players cost peanuts and Dajaku was signed by Stuttgart until 2022 and sold for peanuts. Some foreign players with 0 pro experience were bough for like $8-10+M, lol.

also according to Bild.........the signing of foreign players in attacking positions is exactly why Dajaku is leaving. Like I keep saying these clubs buy buy buy even when they already have players at their Academy. I sometimes feel like they don't even care to what they have, they are more drawn by purchasing.

I've seen comments in the past that some clubs prefer to sign players over moving up a player due to driving interest to their fans. Compare a U19 player to 1st team vs a player bought, there is more hype and interest towards players where the club invests money.

Dajaku is an interesting one, can play SS/CF/W. Although SS is pretty much as if your playing 2 strikers uptop.

some call Dajaku street footballer, fast, very good technique and tactically too and good in 1v1. Can shoot with both feet it seems, which makes him hard to predict for defenders. Needs to improve in the air and his physique too. Another one like Glatzel and Burkardt (in the past) who need to improve the physicality aspect.

I'm never sure if he's fit for sole CF or not. I guess I'll wait to see him more when he improves his physicality to say for certain.

Glatzel is physical , he’s just short. But he has broad shoulders and fairly muscular

He is injury prone yes, but he is not physically weak at all

Bayern has signed junior national team Leon Dajaku! The 18-year-old offensive player changes from VfB Stuttgart to the record champions and strengthens the amateurs of the Munich, but can also play one more year for the U19. Danjaku gets a contract until June 30, 2023. "We are very happy that Leon has decided for Bayern. He is a quick and dangerous offensive player. We are convinced that he will still make great progress at Bayern, "said Jochen Sauer, head of the FC Bayern Campus.

"I am very happy to be able to play for Bayern in the future and want to make my contribution to a successful season," said Dajaku.
    https://fcbayern.com/de/news/2019/07/leon-dajaku-wechselt-zum-fc-bayern?shortURL=Dajaku160719

LOL Dajaku's advisor is Kevin Kuranyi.
"FC Bayern has been interested in Leon for a long time and the contact has never been broken", explains his advisor Kevin Kuranyi and also mentions the reasons for this step. "At VfB, he was just sent to the second team, so in the fifth league." Prospects that seemed far from ideal for the young professional. For Kuranyi "it is perfectly logical that Leon sees a better perspective in Munich in third-division missions and regular training sessions with the pros".

"The 5th league is certainly not optimal for the development of top talents," says Kuranyi, who once belonged to the golden guild of "boys wild", with which the VfB still likes to advertise. "You do not see that differently at VfB, and you act accordingly, as in the case of Eric Hottmann, who was lent to Sonnenhof Großaspach." To the neighboring third division so that is to be introduced to the Dajakus U-19 players professional business.

Kuranyi reminds VfB of the emergence of the "Junge Wilden"
Kuranyi misses more confidence in the skills and perspectives of his player, the talents at VfB in general - also with a view to their own career. "The 'Junge Wilden' would never have existed if you had not just had the courage to throw us in the cold water at the time - and that at the time in the Bundesliga."

Bayern now benefits. "We are very happy that Leon has decided for Bayern," says Jochen Sauer, the head of the FC Bayern campus. "He is a quick and scorching offensive player and we are confident that he will make big strides at Bayern.

exactly like I've been saying, clubs don't throw players in the cold water anymore. Instead all the excuses in the world come up and then they buy players with experience.

looks like Dajaku scored 5 goals in 7 games vs Bayern. No wonder they always wanted him. And looks like Dajaku's current preference is SS.

Bundesliga.com is a trash site but oh well.
Plays a bit like: Marco Reus

Like Dortmund captain Reus, Dajaku is capable of playing across the front line but has also stated his best position is off the main striker in the centre. Quick, nimble and with an eye for goal and teammates, the 18-year-old provides threats from multiple angles. He demonstrates excellent composure in front of goal and over free-kicks, but he also possesses two powerful feet, showing he is capable of smashing the ball home with either his left or his right boot.

    What they're saying

“Leon was the first and only player I’ve seen take the ball from kick-off and score straightaway. He’s technically very strong, especially in one-on-ones. A real street footballer.” – DFB camp coach Pascal Stöffler

“He’s a young boy and he has to learn. He’ll take some stick [for making mistakes] but I’ll have my arm around him.” – VfB Stuttgart head coach Tim Walter

I really do feel like the 01 age group should consider playing 2 uptop. Already players like Glatzel and Dajaku work better off with another striker than alone. We brought it up in the previous youth thread as well.

that has been an issue in the past levels with this age group. The feeling that as of now, majority of 01 strikers seem incapable of playing sole striker at the International level. Club isn't the same, you play/train all season with same team. And we kept playing 1 uptop, including Dajaku playing sole CF numerous times. I mean when these players mature more and add physicality than it could be a different story.

Other age groups seems like there is no CF issue unless dfb makes one like forcing Reese uptop or Y.Otto. Otherwise only issue that pops up is the lack of finishing chances like what happened to 02s although that you get better at it with age, so no deal breaker.

looks like the Korean Ji is out for 3-5 months but Mainz won't replace him. Opens up chances for Burkardt and likely Akono (if injuries happens to others).

Mainz coach Schröder again: "We have three very seasoned Bundesliga strikers. Add to that Johnny Burkardt, who is developing well and wants to take the next step. These four have our confidence. "

I wonder if Germany's future is 2 uptop. The more we develop good strikers the more playing 1 uptop becomes wasteful. Playing 1 only for senior NT makes sense NOW since we are lacking options.

so what do we play striker X for 10+ years as sole CF and everyone else is a sub or is left out? Majority of the duals would also jump ship as well. As only 1-2 strikers getting picked, one in XI and 1 as a sub makes breakingthrough extremely hard. Especially if a striker is deemed undroppable by a senior NT coach.

Aue's 01 CB Jeck seems to be doing well.
The FC Erzgebirge Aue is back from the training camp on the Baltic Sea and prepares again in their native climes for the upcoming season. Also in attendance is a player who caused quite a stir in the previous year.

The talk is of self-grown Niklas Jeck, who moved in the preparation 18/19 by good performances in the test matches themselves in the focus - especially with coach Daniel Meyer. He wanted to include Jeck as a local player in his squad last year, as he said about the then 16 -year-old at TAG24. His still young age made that impossible.

    Stable services
Today Jeck is a year older, more mature - and convinced again in the preparation. Most recently, he was in the friendly against Fredericia just under 20 minutes on the court came for veteran Sören Gonther. The over 1.90-meter center-back made a good impression here, as well as defensive qualities and his build-up.

The fact that Meyer wants to see the 17-year-old as a local player in his team this season seems likely. Especially since the coach is known to rely more on the own offspring of the FCE, as was the case a few years ago.

also that Bayern II are interested in him.

01-Ehlers and 98-Burnic played for 2BL Dynamo vs PSG. Seems like our defensive duo only allowed Mbappe and company 3 goals in an eventual 6-1 loss. Players only played 1 half.

not bad, Ehlers still a U19 player and has 0 pro experience compare that to Mbappe and his like 150 pro games. Mbappe ended up with 2 goals and 1 assist. I mean the obvious PSG top of Ligue 1 is better than a 2BL club and they have better players too.

other youth who played were Atilgan, Lowe and Kulke in the 2nd half.

-also 01 CF Dursun was involved with the Pauli 1st team today in a 1-0 friendly win besides the other youth players there.

Just from my amateur perspective, it's a bit hard to play 2 striker upfront. The reason is, wingplay is very important to break down the defense and having 2 striker make the midfield too narrow. Unless using 3-5-2 formation. But in order to play 3-5-2, the center back need to possess vast experience playing 3 CB formation. Considering in our roster of CB, from Sule, Rudiger, Kehrer, Stark, Ginter, only Rudiger plays regularly in 3 CB formation. Its too risky to suddenly shift to 3 CB only in NT formation. Therefore, if still using 4 defenders and 2 striker, mathematically you only can play with 4 midfield, thus too narrow.
