He slightly touched the referee- he certainly got into his space. This is a red card of a frustrated player who is frustrated with refs, team mates not scoring, himself not scoring, defenders giving up stupid goals, coaches that can’t make in game adjustments, and someone just plain frustrated with losing.
If Hairston doesn’t redeem himself in this game somehow - he should be gone. He just hasn’t shown he can take advantage of his opportunity in the playing time he has had.
If the Roosevelt Lounge was still around, I’d say it would be a good place to throw back a few and enjoy the second half - it’s a Roosevelt Lounge kind of night for the Dynamo!!!!!
Miles Robinson has come into his own this season under Frank de Boer. He couldn't get a whiff of first team time under Tata Martino.
It helps when you have a coach who believes in you, will give you the minutes to develop and teach you how to be better. And an eye to spot potential. We have none of those things here.
The memories of social justice warrior Joe Holland and allocation money. Could have had Jackson Yuell but traded out to get money to get AJD
It is funny because Atlanta fans are so fickle. They want to run Frank de Boer out of town with every loss and this spat with Pity Martinez doesn't help, but he has done wonders with Robinson and also Ezequiel Barco, another player Martino couldn't find a place for.
Think the red was harsh but a stupid move by Elis to get in his grill. But Elis has been this way ever since he got here, plays with an emotional edge, little cheap shots behind the play, etc. Dynamo seem to have been very undisciplined overall last month
Straight red. So he’s out vs. Toronto on the red and the yellow counts so he’s 1 More yellow away from a suspension on yellow accumulation
The first 10 minutes sum up the Dynamo. Elis skins Parkhurst and Hairston whifs on the sitter. Then he falls in front of the goal to block the own-goal by Nagbe. Elis lets his frustration and petulance boil over and gives Penso the opportunity to toss him. I think it was soft -- and petulant by Penso but it is still 1000% Elis fault. And of course ... no VAR, no call on the Penalty on Quito.
He got the first yellow for kicking the ball at the linesman, then a second for getting into the ref's grill.
