It's that but it's scapegoating as well. Having somewhere to put their rage and frustration from what's going on (the result of a football game) and then just completely letting loose, again because they can behind the safety of their computer screen. It's some very weak minded stuff really...
Pretty much this. It's perfectly understandable to be frustrated by AY's play and presence on the team week in, week out. But at the same time, there is no reason to cross the line and a minimum of self control is warranted.
https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soc...-young-set-for-manchester-united-exit-sources No surprise tbh, it's time. This season is proving to be his one season too much, as was the case with Valencia. And unlike last season, FB is not a worry anymore with AWB, Shaw, Dalot, Williams and even Laird. Curious to see where he does land, but I wouldn't mind seeing him end up with a MLS club if he does leave England.
It will never happen but I'd love to see Ole in charge of player development/DoF lite type of role. I may not be behind all his tactical ideas but he clearly understands who should or shouldn't be in the team.
Romano is claiming that Inter are in active negotiations for AY. For now also: Conte wants him bad apparently. He looks to be in favor of it as well. Time to make room for our young FBs from now on.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51028918 Nothing has been decided yet as to when AY could join Inter, but it seems as if it will be by season's end once his United contract expires.
Inter are becoming my new favorite club for taking all our overpaid shit. "Hey Inter, if you think Ashley Young at RB is sweet, wait until you pair him with Luke Shaw on the other flank. Pure magic. He'll only cost you 20 mil...no we wont do a 2 year loan and split wages. Greedy cnuts."
United offer AY an extension.... https://www.skysports.com/football/...ffer-ashley-young-one-year-contract-extension Don't really see the sense in this at all, considering the options we have on hand and ready to step up. This really was the perfect time to let him go. Let's hope he looks at Inter and decides to make it a go there, with them being closer to winning things and whatnot...
AY turns down United in favor of Inter - DiMarzio https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/man...s-down-extension-defender-wants-to-join-inter Still mind boggling (however not entirely surprising though) that the club did actually offer him a new deal. Thank God he bailed us out there by the looks of it... A FB corp of Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Williams and Shaw (with Laird possibly sent out on loan) has a nice ring to it.
The fact that we even offered him an extension shows that the club hasn’t learned a damn thing and is still run by panicked idiots.
If AY has told Ole, as rumored, that he does not want to play for the club anymore or even be selected to matchday squads, they might as well just let him go now, even if it's on a free (cut the salary off the books). Still wonder whether he actually say he was done though. If it's true, we've got the numbers at FB and it's time to start having Dalot, just to name him, getting more involved. Lukaku is said to be the one to have convinced him to come to Milan.
If the rumors of Young refusing to play for us is actually true, then he can ******** right off. Don’t bury him in the reserves, just throw his shit in the parking lot and tell him to go do one. It’s one thing when star players pull this type of shit, but for the teams arguably worst and most overpaid player to pull it? ********ing ridiculous. I’m usually pretty laid but but I’m so ********ing sick of this club, the players, the staff, just everything about this club right now is a mess.
Would love to hear the other side to this story before making any judgement. Up to this point one of the thing players / ex-players have said about AY is that he is a model pro. Saw an interview with James where he said Ash was the one keeping young players standards in line (ie as we heard the likes of Nev, Keane etc did in the past). So would seem out of character. He may have his reasons or this could be a b/s rumour. But people can surprise you, so who knows?
Why AY is keen to leave United this month. https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...ews/man-united-ashley-young-transfer-17545087 Really don't see why we'd be desperate to hold onto to him for another 5-6mos. The possibility of injuries and being short is a valid one, but it is mitigated by the options we have at our disposal at FB right now. We were ready to ditch Matic this month allegedly and our current situation in midfield is the only reason those plans have been shelved for now. AY, for all intents and purposes, is in the same boat being firmly down the pecking order right now. Whatever else anyone might think about him, he's been a faithful servant to the club in his time there. He's hardly needed now and with time definitely not on his side, it's something the club can do. And in the process, switch our focus towards other players who potentially have a future.
From what James said it sounded like Young is always bitching and moaning about something. I guess Keano was the same way to a degree but with Young it just comes off like hes throwing a fit. I cant stand when hes on the pitch screwing up left and right and then has the gall to bitch at someone else for being out of position. If the rumors of Young being upset arent true and hes just ready to move on then fair play to the guy. I've never liked him as a player and never thought he was good enough to play here, but you cant question his workrate and dedication. The guy gave his all, his all just wasnt very good.
For all of his faults and diminished skills, he was our best crosser of the ball. How depressing is that...
Talk is united now want him to stay? Dont get it. Chance to get money, get his wage bill off the books, get younger?
The club re signed Mata to a long term deal, when it reportedly was against their own policy to sign 30 somethings to deals over one year. It was only a mild surprise that they'd try to keep AY, even for one more, despite there being no good reason for it. He wants to leave though so that's that: either the club allows him to leave this month or it will happen this summer. Nothing they can do about that anyhow...
Is a January transfer inertia thing. The story supposedly is Inter are desperate for a wingback asap and have said to AY they will give him an 18 month contract if he joins now. They have told him they will not wait to sign him in June. If true (and sounds possible) would explain his strong desire to leave and not play etc. If true we should tell him and Inter to f off - our squad is so thin and the saving of a few months salary not worth the cost of the message that we can be easily pushed around with this type of tactic. Even if we just pay him a few months to do nothing.
Have no idea: we've got Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Shaw, Williams and even Laird as possible FB options. AY is really not needed, except for old head/leadership purposes. Which would make sense, from a certain point of view, with him being a leading figure in the dressing room. Not sure it's enough for me not to allow him to leave though. We're rebuilding and should focus on developing players for the future.
