We stopped looking dangerous as soon as Iwobi was taken off the wide position. We just didnt look structured, no patterns of play just 6 attack minded players playing 'freestyle'

Boy. Not much to say but I am not sure what is wrong with the Arsenal. The only thing to conclude is Wenger and tactics. We have a pretty solid team. We can't blame the fact that we need any kind of player anymore. We got our dmid. In a sense we got our striker.

This has to be Ramsey's last game starting for us.

Would of been amazing having Santi for a game like this.

not as long as wenger is around. the prodigal child will be given a starting position as soon as he reaches 75% health again.

Same old Arsenal. No excuses. The most mentally fragile team in top flight soccer. Plenty of players to call out. Ozil, Ramsey & Theo.

Xhaka for putting us in this position. Just typical Arsenal. Can't finish on the field or the table.

If Lucas had come instead of Theo, (like i wanted) I think we might have pulled it out. Theo is so damn inconsistent. Like Giroud.

as would having an actual right-back.

or not wasting our attack trying to go through giroud against 2 big central defenders when we have sanchez.

or, well, being actually prepared to play.

Same tactics, game in game out regardless of who the opposition is. Maitland-Niles and Ox play the match of their lives last game, but we don't play either one of them; instead we play Coq against a team that most likely is going to bunker. Watford is a big, physical team, so what do we do? Start Giroud and lump up long balls to him. No, we can't start Lucas Perez, who just played an excellent game last match and has a bit of pace to test the Watford backline. How about instead of playing 4 at the back, play 3 and add a midfield player? Nah, we have to play 4 at the back, it would ruin our system! I know, let's put in a centre back that has no offensive ability and little experience at right back instead of the guy who has done it internationally for Germany. All of this makes total sense to me! Why change anything when we have been so successful doing it this way for the past couple of years.

Chelsea drops 2pts and so we stupidly drop 3. Ain't that just like us.

If we don't beat Chelsea then the title is basically theirs.

Signing off now. Sad and a little surprised to give up my thread starting duties today.

All I ask is that whomever steps up to start the Chelsea thread, please do it by Thursday morning please. Our match is Saturday 7:30am ET!

What an utter crock of shit

Why does wenger persist in playing giroud and shoving alrxis out wide?

Games like this are proof he wont win anything if value or challenge for the league

Giroud is an impct sub. The passing was horrific and we couldnt deal with the press

Players flailing about like little kids when they got tackled

    Awful

We lost this game due to a lucky free kick and awful defending (and a little bit of luck) on the second goal.

We also started out lazy (again).

At this point, it's the FA cup or nothing.

    Not surprised.

This team was not good enough to win the title at the beginning of the season - nothing has changed.

Xhaka was the wrong signing (as I have said before) and Lucas is not good enough. Cech, Kos, Mustafi, Bellerin, Sanchez and Ozil are the only players that should be starting (and Santi when fit). The rest are wack/too young/too inconsistent. Not to mention the manager and his tactic prowess (or lack thereof).

The other problem is that while new players have been signed, some of which have been good signings, the overall mentality/fragility of this team spreads like a cancer which affects/will affect those players. Need to do a huge clear-out before this team stands a chance at winning.

commentators on NBCSN are lambasting AW. "the constant in Arsenals woes is AW". Arsenal players played "lazily and assuming a win". Wow. Dead on accurate it sounds from what I'm reading above.

To be honest the season was over at weeks ago but it seems to have been confirmed today. We'll get thumped by Chelsea this weekend. The team selection today was disgraceful. The players who played were shocking in the first half and Wenger is an idiot.

IMHO opinion we lost because we threw away the first half. They blitzed us, scored early, and we acted like we didn't know what to do.

If we were miraculously to beat Chelsea at the Bridge, then there'd be a slight glimmer of hope. But barring that, then I'd say it's the cups or bust!

p.s. Kudos to @BIGHMW for putting up the next thread so damn quickly!

Is this not further proof giroud and ozil does not work in the same team?
