Friday 22 December 2017 Ashburton Grove USA TV: NBCSN 2:45pm ET A rare Friday night match. A bigger test... no bottom feeders this time. But then a nice 5-day rest afterwards. We’ve stuttered through the last 4 matches. Sure we’re undefeated in 5, but aside from beating up on a weak Bulgarian side, we’ve been far far from lethal offensively. Liverpool have been a tad better, but still a bit erratic. They’re on a 12 match (2 month) undefeated run. They’ve shored up their defense pretty well. So it may just come down to whether their Fab Four catch fire again or not. We’re back to our A-side, but injuries are mounting: Ramsey, Giroud, and probably Coquelin. Still we’re due to inflict some payback, considering how they embarrassed us in August. But I have a hunch that luck may play a big role. And if Martin Atkinson makes any mistakes, let’s hope they go our way. COYG!!!!
In Wenger's presser he said Kolasinac will be available, and Mustafi probably also. Our defensive shape is one of the key questions leading up, and he wouldn't be drawn out on that, whether he plays 3, 4 or 5.
A great match because it occurs on a Friday afternoon at the kickoff of a Holiday period. Lots of folks will use this as the start to their holiday chill out stretch. That being said this game could be a stress producer if you let it. But.... my plan is to enjoy my pints, not let this game bother me and look forward to time with my family. Happy Holidays to all. All that aside....I would say we have less than a 10% chance of winning this game and could see a total meltdown. Cheers!
Kola says the key to the game is pressing them tight. Would LOVE to us do that!! From start to finish. If we're fit enough.
Monreal at CB and AMN at LB vs Liverpool is suicide. What is it with Wenger and naming decent teams to face Liverpool?
Two crosses to the far post. Both on AMN's side. Both end in dangerous headers by Firminho. Worrisome. Edit: now another attack diwn that same side and they get a header and a goal. Ugggh
AMN is getting absolutely abused. Way out of position for the goal and just lost his man for their best chance before that too. Terrible
I think the deflection by Kos was unanticipated and left him in no man's land. I think Cech was not the big reason for that goal.
Wenger's team picks at times will eventually go down as one of life's greatest mysteries, on par with the Bermuda Triangle, the yeti, and black holes.
I feel like we always suck on matchdays that fall on non-traditional days of the week. Friday and Monday games are always nightmares.
Bad half. They're getting into dangerous positions near our goal with ease. We are not. Our defensive plan is just not working. And our offense is not able to crack them open. AMN is just not quite there yet. I'd bring on Kola/Mustafi and shuffle things a bit.
