Monreal was never a top-tier footballer, but he is absolutely done at this level. He has to go this summer.
Wow that was a bizarre sequence. Monreal with a no-look hard pass back to his keeper who was nowhere near the goal mouth. Cech had to scramble to save it. Then since it was a backpass, the ref awarded a free kick on the 6-box to the side. Larsen scooped it up and for a moment, my heart was in my mouth for the second time in 2 mins. I guess now, we see if our lads REALLY want to win this???!!!
Put my earbuds in to hear the crowd better. To their credit, they're still right behind the team. But time is running out, and I wonder how long their good support will continue?
Ramsey goes off injured. Ankle? I'm not too bothered by that. Aaron's such a shadow of his former self. Gibbs comes off also. Welbeck & Iwobi in. COME ON YOU!
What a terrific goal from Sexy Alexy!!! 1-nil!!! But West Brom have to get on the stick here, they trail Shitty 2-nil at The Etihad, but we are certainly doing our part. COYF'n'G!!!
Given the amount of times he's had the ball pelted at him from close range, Jordan Pickford probably thinks he's in an episode of Jackass.— Wise Men Say Podcast (@WiseMenSayPod) May 16, 2017
I hear you. If I interpret it one way, it's a call to purchase or develop talent to compete with him for MVP. Or if I interpret it another way, it's a call to discard Sanchez because he stifles our play, shape, or whatever. I don't really buy that 2nd interpretation though. But then I've always liked Alexis, with all his faults and all.
Well, much like Rebecca Lowe mentioned we need a win and we need some help on Sunday: Arsenal must beat Everton AND Liverpool need to drop points against Boro. Enough said. It's too bad that they no longer make TVs with picture-in-picture technology so I guess I'll have to be content with watching our match on TV and keeping a track of the out-of-town scorebug in the top right of my screen. BTW, well played match at home to Sunderland, looks like the Black Cats played like they were on holiday or vacation, no effort, like they didn't show up, with nothing to play for, this kinda scares me, will Boro bag it this Sunday against Liverpool or will they be motivated enough to become spoilers???
Pool aint losing to Boro. We are exactly where we deserve to be. Europa League here we come! The slow downhill slide of the Club continues. This should solidify the Alexi and Ozil departure. Wow. When does Arsene announce he is staying?
At least Boro can play them tough enough to squeak out a draw, I don't know if it'll happen or not, but they'd better not bag it just because they're headed back to the Championship. Remember how we took Leicester City for granted during our 2003-04 Invincibles season and Paul Dickov burned us for the first goal in that now-famous season-ending match at Highbury??? I hope Middlesbrough will play with the kind of spunk this Sunday that the Foxes did in that tilt, in which we eventually came back and won 2-1 to finish undefeated.
Assuming you have a cable or satellite account which gets you NBCSN/LiveExtra, why don't you just stream the 2nd match on your laptop? Or alternatively I wonder if they might do "Goalrush" on one of the LiveExtra TV channels, and if our match is primary then they'll just cut away to the Pool match as things happen there. I've watched Goalrush before and it's not bad. And given that our "race" with Liverpool is apparently the only suspense that's left in the EPL, there seems to be a chance that they might do this? They were not on vacation. They showed plenty of desire, especially in the first half, when they could've easily been ahead by one or two goals, were it not for Peter Cech being a solid keeper. In 2T we kind of took the game over, thankfully. p.s. I was very impressed by how many Sunderland away supporters showed up tonight, given how far they had to come... on a weeknight! Their corner of the stands seemed to be more densely populated than much of the other parts of the lower bowl. They are a great, storied club (even if their successes are many decades in the past now), with an excellent hometown fanbase, so it's a little sad to see them go down.
I have DISH so I can watch the Liverpool match on my tablet while watching The Gunners host Everton, thanks for the heads up. COYF'n'G!!!
It is possible to criticize someone and not think they are bad. And to be honest, the two seasons when I would say Alexis has been our best player (this season and his first season with Arsenal) have been the worst seasons out of the last five.
