I buy that. This whole team needs the game to just be simplified a bit. Nothing looks natural or easy.
Sokratis takes 10 seconds to take a throw-in and then commits a foul throw, then lets his man blow right past him on the endline. Put me in, coach. I haven't played competitively in 15 years, but I know how to do a throw-in.
I wonder if Xhaka has realized yet that the boos weren't for him, but that he was a scapegoat for the fanbase's frustration with Emery.
I would also not be booing my team when there's 3 mins to go and they're fighting for their lives. And there you go... Laca makes it 2-2. "Not good enough" but still I liked it.
The worst possible result On the plus side Arsenal looked better on attack Same old issues in midfield and defensively Nothing is improving. We will finish 10th at this rate
3 points from Sheffield, Palace, Wolves, Leicester and Southampton. Minimum 7 points out of 4th. But it's the booing that should be the focal point.
Wow I am beyond disgusted with the performance. 3 in the back. 2 wing backs. 2 defensive mids. And no Pepe against Southampton are you serious. 7 defensive players at home vs a relegation squad. It doesn't matter the team Emery puts out there this is not just working. A change of coach is needed right now. This is really hurting me fellas because I had high hope's to start the season (top 4). .... #EmeryOut
Just abysmal. The penalty call was harsh but Arsenal have only themselves to blame by putting themselves into these positions. Once again the team was aggressively out shot, the majority of their possession was nowhere near threatening positions, and the simple errors by the defense cost the team.
Our season is already over. Might as well rip the scab off, sack Emery and start the rebuild. The longer this continues, the worse the damage to morale etc The good news is we have a decent squad.
This trend is stupefying to me. How to build a team oriented around so many offensive weapons and yet consistently be outshot by "lesser" teams? Or better still, how does any coach at this level not make the midfield changes to reverse that trend?!
Because Emery is the Basque Berhalter. If you think of them, fundamentally, as the same manager, it starts to make sense.
That's the softest penalty I've seen in my life. The cliche is that it would be called a foul outside the box, but not here. That's never a foul let alone a penalty.
xG map for Arsenal - Southamptonfortunate home draw for Arsenal, yup, that's where we're at pic.twitter.com/4vnygyaNTD— Caley Graphics (@Caley_graphics) November 23, 2019 I think Caley ropes the penalty rebound into the "+1 pen" part of it. Still, abysmal.
