Looked like it to me. I was thinking how that track-my-finger thing can't really be a very good test for mild to moderate concussions. He should(ve) come off.
Three turnovers since he took the hit. Obvious substitution for both his health and the team's performance.
And see... 5 minutes later after the risky decision to let Xhaka keep playing, he sits down and says take me off. The state of concussion management, especially in the Prem, is absolutely stupid.
Just got this. Good one! Seriously, I hope he's OK. Some day the powers that be will actually look after the interests of the player's health. Probably it will take temporary substitutions for head injuries before we see anything much change in this regard.
If they had an extra sub just for this type of situation i think more clubs would do it, but it is a huge tactical hit and deterrent
Interesting that we've been defending in a really flat 4-4-2 since the third goal, with Ozil next to Auba and Pepe/Nelson and Martinelli as wide midfielders. Back to basics, but it seems to be working.
Now Chambers down with a head injury. After he bravely lowered his head to clear a cross, then took a hit from the attacker's knee. BUT he got up quicker and looked better than Xhaka so here's hoping.
LOL, our away fans are singing OLE! With our possession passing at the end of this game. They must have quite the sense of humor.
Well we all do have something to celebrate today. A win, a potential formation for moving forward, a broken horror streak.
Apparently the #WestHamUtd PA mistook Matteo Guendouzi for David Luiz. Been there mate.— The Short Fuse (@TheShortFuse) December 9, 2019
FT. 3-1 to the Arse. A WIN!!! When was the last time we had one of those??? And first away win since opening day. AND... we finally have a non-negative GD! Ok it's just zero, but...
Played well at CB, still a terrible RB haha So glad with the win today! I feel so much better. The relief in the faces of Freddie and the team and the smiles is nice to see.
First off, kudos to the lads. Good for them for sticking it out and pulling out the W. Credit due. Second, thrilled to see WHU suffer. Would love for them to take the drop.
Torreira should get some kudos for today. His vertical passes between lines were the genesis of at least 2 of our goals. I say keep him in the XI and see what he can do with a solid run of matches. Sadly with December fixture congestion, that may not be completely possible.
