At least he's been keeping himself busy: We would like to congratulate @aronjo20 on the birth of his daughter! 👶 pic.twitter.com/pOWwAyUHe6— SV Werder Bremen EN (@werderbremen_en) March 13, 2017
i've always found the icelandic naming culture to be very peculiar but then again it directly honors your father so there's that to be proud of though maybe the mother should get more credit
I think that's a little offside. Blank bought hisself a franchise, just like Microsoft man did in Seattle and Sheikh Mansour did in New York. He is playing by the rules of MLS. He is spending just as much as he can within the constraints of the league. Who knows where they are going from here, but they have brought in young talent as opposed to aging established megastars. RB Leipzig is a completely different and distasteful situation, in the eyes of most German Fußballfans.
Not a real surprise here: http://www.espnfc.us/story/3082014/werder-bremens-aron-johannsson-considering-summer-move-source U.S. international Aron Johannsson could look at "different options" in the summer should his situation at Werder Bremen not improve before the end of the Bundesliga season, a source close to the player has told ESPN FC.
I don't think he meant it as an insult but more of the it's their first year in the league and they've been really good.
Although I hate when someone leaves because they aren't getting playing time, he ain't getting any younger and for the sake of the USMNT which is all I care about, he needs to be playing regularly. I would not mind at all to see him playing for my local club.
Getting the name from the dad's side was a bit of compensation. In ancient cultures, including the Judaic and up to the Romans, it was customary for the mother's relatives to be the ones more in charge of the offspring for obvious reasons (they were 100% certain the kids were theirs). So, your maternal uncle ("avunculus" or little grandfather) was the guy who took charge of you if your dad died. And he was also the one to get you "in society" (you were his nepotem, whence the words nepotism and nephew come from). So getting the names from the dad was like the consolation prize. His family was never going to be as involved with you as your mom's. With Atlanta we may get a full picture of up to what point his health issues are interfering with his ability as a player. I hope Aron can reinvent himself, because he has a wicked mid-distance shot, something we lack in our current forward pool. PS: On the paternal side, your uncle was your patruus, and your nephew (son of your brother) was the sobrinus. As can be noticed, we don't have words like avuncular or nepotism equivalents for that side.
