Not to mention the equally appalling Lavrentia Beria.

He’s very good on the left side. What’s the projected scheme and line-up?

Thank you both, full on offensive reminiscent of Bielsa’s days.

    Can Tagliafico play centrally?

That’s the big question. He might play in more of a natural role when Masche backtracks, but one would figure this would be Fazio’s moment to start. I’m assuming he’s going with Taglia for speed, but it still is a little bizarre. No height to defend set pieces outside of Ota, also.

Funny thing is Sampa had been considering Fazio a starter for months, yet when the WC rolls arounds he drops him to play two fullbacks out of position

To be fair they have played well, although their opponents were mediocre.

But, who has they beat so far? when big teams survive the group stage, they usually prevail against non favorites at KO stage.

Russia looks average despite their scoreline. I wouldnt worry if we survive the group stage and face them at KO stage. The best performance in this WC so far has been by Mexico, unexpectedly. I dont think Japan would beat Colombia if wasnt the red.

I absolutely can't stand Ronaldo, certainly rooting against Portugal, but even his greatest detractors must admit the guy is on fire, it looks like he is in midseason form. They should check him for PEDs because his burst & acceleration are as quick as I've ever seen from him.

He scored and had a good pass to Guedes. Besides that he has done nothing. But credit to him for scoring, that’s what he is there for. Morocco actually looks like the better team but are missing a striker.

I have nothing against Portugal, Figo are Deco are some of my fav players from previous decade. However, its amazing that Portugal players could even stand to playing with him. Everytime Portugal conceided, he had disgusted look like the whole team owes him something or hampering his quest for personal glory.

Michael Jordan is probably the biggest sport icon out there, he's also known for being hyper competitive , love to trash talk his opponents on and outside the field but he's obviously a team player and it doesnt have to be always about him. When his teammates hits the winners, he celebrated as much.

When CR play, whether for Portugal or RM, they just want his teammates to set him up to score and that's his only main goal.

Messi was on the way to get a hattrick against Nigeria in 2014, and he didnt seems to care when he was subbed despite there's still 30 minutes to play. Even Tevez looks mad when Diego subbed him in 2010 when he could have get a hattrick. Messi obviously a team player. He love to set up his teammates to score while CR only wants his teammates to give the ball to score.

I do admit one thing, CR do not succumb to preasure , but this is only possible because he play for himself, not his team. Portugal only got 1 point, but he celebrated like they've qualified with that hattrick. If Portugal lose, he'd still be happy because he'll be the one on the headline.

Secondly, Portugal doesnt have big history in World cup tournament like Brazil., Germany, Argentina, Italy, France... When Portugal lose, their fans will not react the same way as the fans from those household WC teams. If Argentina lose, all the players will get crucified .

Oh, I despise the guy cause he is such an obvious jerk, but he is an amazing player and for the first time is showing it at the world cup. I want him to score goals every game cause i think that would take the pressure off Messi.

The other problem for Messi is that, he's not only being compare constantly to CR, but he's also being compared to Maradona. If he fail, not only CR fans would feel glorious but many Argentines will be pointing that he'll never come close to Diego no matter what.

Now add the fact that he's playing for a NT that has won 2 WC + many Copa but has not win anything for 25 years. Preasure is 10 x bigger than CR has to face.

He's getting lucky goals. His marker went to sleep on that play. Ronaldo is the LOAT. Luckiest of all times.

Morocco simply just not good enough ...but still, they made Portugal playing Iran style football.
