I think we can get through the first stage but you never know with these things and the games have to be played. Holland, as always ,very difficult but nothing is impossible.

I hope Argentina, and Serbia and Montenegro will advance from this group.

Hopefully, Holland will finish last, with 0 points. :D

This is all FIFA's doing. What were they thinking when they placed Spain as a seed ahead of Holland? Serbia and Montenegro won Spain's group anyway, while Holland clearly won theirs. Another weird seed, Mexico. The US or a couple other european countries (Sweden or Croatia based on best finishes, 2nd and 3rd place respectively) could have easily been seeded instead. However, FIFA must have thought a North American seed was absolutely necessary.
It all just seems like a bunch of rubbish. Still Argentina is stronger than Serbia and Ivory Coast undoubtebly (even if its only a small margin) and right on par with Holland, who will give our defenses a hell of a time. We're going to need a healthy full strength lineup to beat theirs.

Ghosh, we are again in one of the toughest groups!

We'll need the best of our team to beat Ivory Coast and Serbia, so as to pass the group along with Holland.

Well, I don't think this can be cheated. Too many checks are being done.

I was still happy that Brazil group is not that easy either. They were close to getting T&T!...

The way I see it, the first match is a must win. If we beat Ivory Coast then we head into the Serbia match with confidence. And we should beat them, I know they have Drogba, but mostly unknown players, if we can't beat them we don't deserve to advance. Ivory Coast may upset somebody, but we have to assume that the Euros will beat them, so we better beat them.

Then we get Serbia. They are, I understand, a conservative, strong defensive team, but if they lose to Holland they will have to come out of their shell and it will facilitate things for us. If they beat Holland, then they will probably play their conservative game and it will make it tougher. Worst case scenario is a Holland-Serbia draw, which will be like England-Sweden last time, and will leave us vulnerable. I think we should play our difference makers, Messi, Tevez, find a way through their defense. And I expect we should come out ahead.

Against Holland, hopefully we will be in by then, because they are dangerous. It really will depend on the other results, but I don't think they will come out defensively. We will have to take it to them, pressure them, play them like we played Brazil in Buenos Aires. We have to put pressure on Cocu and deny the ball to their attackers. Hopefully we can control it and play at our pace, and I think if we play smart on the ground our forwards can trouble their big defenders.

So, a big challenge, but we should be able to come out of it. We better handle the tough European teams, or we'll never hear the end of it.

I don't understand how this is being labeled a group of Death. Argentina and Holland are class, Ivory Coast and serbia? Since when is anyone scared of them? I really just don't get it. I don't see anything but Argentina and Holland going through.

    Vamo' arriba eh!

We should be worried about Serbia because they are not in the finals by chance. They earned their place ahead of Spain and Belgium. Defensively, they have let in the fewest goals of European qualifying (1 goal against Spain in a draw). Offensively, they have Kezman, Milosevic and Stankovic. Argentina will have to fight hard for the win.

Im not worried much about the Ivory Coast but as someone has written, Drogba's a monster. They also beat out Cameroon, a team worth taking seriously.

Then there's Holland, a skilled team.

The truth is that there is no easy push-over team in this group like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Togo, Tunisia, Angola, or Costa Rica.

No, they are good teams. The way I look at, Ivory Coast is like a second round team, Serbia is like a quarterfinals team, and Holland is like a semifinals team, so if we beat all three we should be good enough to at least make it to the final. Of course, that is in theory. And I am worried a bit about the 'desgaste' of playing three tough physical teams in the first round.
