It existed when they need to pull a penalty for Chile out of their ass.

Chile has not beaten Argentina in last 8 meets except in those 2 finals via penalties. Its their only ultimate weapon, they reached semi in this tournament via penalties and when Peru & Argentina scores, they cant win because there will be no shooutout for them. The ref tried everything to get them a penalties , they got one but it wasnt enough.

This was just a really bad decision by a bad ref. He went old school where if a game got feisty, the ref would just give a couple of reds one from each team the first chance he got. It's definitely a shame.

BTW ... that first goal today shouldn't have stood. Messi hits the FK while the ball is moving. Not sure if they just didn't notice or it's something that VAR is just not supposed to review.

Nope...the ball wasn’t moving. It stopped for a second before Messi passed.

    The goal is valid.

You can see it clearly here:

The refs in CONMEBOL are just ridiculously bad.

How this was not a red card in the 2015 final is beyond me:

Prior to the WC in Russia he was starting to show this form and confidence and winning games for Udinese. This season in an average side he has been a standout once again. I cannot see any reason why he cannot go further as a player. He had undoubted talent and ability at Racing and he has finally matured abd he is mentally tough.

I like this attitude of Messi. He is a star and he can make waves if he needs to. I would be happy for him to keep criticizing CONMEBOL. They are a joke. All the media here in England are staggered by the decision made yesterday and the incompetence of the referee not just yesterday but also by Bolsonaro's best buddy in the semi-final.

That movement . Passing into feet at a high tempo is something that we have not seen for a long time. There was fluidity. We tore them apart unsettled them and should and would have buried them five or six. That is the way to go in midfield with dynamism. Makes everyones jobs easier in defence and attack. The balance probably needs just a midfield destroyer and the chemistry between Dybala and Messi at the end of the Brazil game was also evident again.

None of Chile players even tries to signal the ref, so there's notHing to argue here, except Brazillians who reminds me sour MJ haters who claimed MJ pushed his marker before that final shot against Utah.. yet not a single Utah player think there's a push.

Oh and by the way Brazilians shouting humiliation at our players after the fixed semi final should remember this.

Being bent over and reamed 7-1 is the textbook definition in the dictionary. Not being cheated by the officials.

Lol if the ball was still moving it was seriously like another millimeter or so. I'm not seeing it man, and it has no effect whatsoever.

Even the likes of Vidal and Rivaldo have come out and criticized CONMEBOL and said the match v Brasil was unjust. Vidal also stated that the officials sent them to a hotel 2 hours from the stadium v Colombia.

Personally, I am glad Messi came out and spoke out. He took the initiative. I would’ve boycotted the next CA if it wasn’t at home. They know they make money off us, we have the most stars and fans come out to watch them play. They can replace us with Honduras.

Anyways... I hope Peru pull of a miracle today but considering it is gonna be a Chilean ref... good luck to Peru...

This Copa went exactly as I expected, we reached semi but Brazil will win the title at all cost via homecook ref decision.

Nevertheless, our players now are playing with a diffetent mentallity.. they're not affected and folded when things dont go their way. To me, this is our best improvement in this tournament.

There’s Wimbledon, been watching that but that’s ending soon as well.

Preseason? Meh. MLS even bigger meh. I guess in a couple weeks the Pan Am games start and I’ll tune in for that.
