Are MLS Academies killing College Soccer?

    No more than AAU kills college basketball (it's actually the NBA). As a practical matter, because there are WAY more academy players than there are places for them to play other than college, academies serve a useful purpose. Get the pro talent into the pro system ASAP (...the way it is in the rest of the credible soccer universe), and the remainder can play college ball.

    Although it's been argued that the NBA and the U19 rule has had an adverse impact on college basketball, the revenue and popularity of the sport say otherwise.
