I have to say that the new season started slowly for me, but the latest episode was great. References to "The Big Sleep", "The Boys from Brazil" and a reinterpretation of Krieger's backstory in which he is heroic.
I am loving this Dream storyline they're going with. Archer is great as a 40's detective and Pam as a cop, perfect.
Yes, that was the finale, a shortened season. Gotta admit, I was disappointed how it ended. Guess next season he'll wake up.
Adam Reed has said that he isn't yet sure if Archer will wake up next season. The might use the Dreamland formula to have him go through adventures in different universes.
Is anyone watching this season? I'm pretty disappointed with it. Not liking the direction they've taken.
It's not as good as the peak seasons but there are still moments that make me laugh. "I always found it ironic that if you really want to get bent over, just ask a missionary."
Wow, have the last couple of episodes been poor. IIRC next season will be the last, and I'm OK with that. One specific thing I've noticed...it seems like the writers are using cursing and unusual combinations of cursewords as a joke crutch. We're all familiar with what the hell and what the *uck. So the first time I heard what the shit, it was pretty funny. But that "joke" (I use irony quotes advisedly) pops up several times an episode now. It's weak.
I'm actually liking Lucky Yates as the bird. But otherwise, it's not been a vintage season. I liked the previous two seasons, so it's not the fact that I loathe them taking a new direction. Also, Aisha Tyler is doing so little work for them that I wonder if a scheduling conflict is to blame? She's barely been in any scenes.
My best guess: Sterling Archer - Dallas Lana Kane - Ripley Cheryl Tunt - Lambert Algertop Krieger - Bishop Cyril Figgis - Kane
