Well, even Jesus got angry, like that time he threw those money changers and capitalist roaders and running-dog lackeys out of the temple courtyard. So he's in good company with Trump.

To be fair, he can be smarter than Palin but still still be dumber than a rock.

Anyone in the Palin family (well, other than Michael from Monty Python) could be substituted for "Corey and Trevor" from Trailer Park Boys.

I realize that the Republicans don't really have a defence because there is no good defence here. But my goodness... That's garbage defending. I could make a better case as a dude who wants with every fibre of my being to see Trump impeached. You say something like so:
"President Trump wanted to ensure that there was no nefarious dealings with Hunter Biden and that if there were, that it would be prosecuted properly and fairly. I realize that that's inconvenient for Joe Biden, but as President, it is Trump's job to ensure that everyone follows the law. That includes the Biden family. As Democrats have often preached at us over the past year, no one is above the law. Even Democratic candidates for President."
There. I just gave a much better and more coherent defence than whatever incoherent non-answer McCarthy was trying to say.

You seem quite bright. McCarthy is not. So that difference might be why this was difficult for him.

How did we miss the "EAT BABIES" troll job?

President Donald Trump, his son Don Jr., and far-right conservatives attacked Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after a speaker at her town hall meeting Thursday night went on a bizarre rant about how eating babies is the only solution to the climate crisis.

But it turns out the stunt was staged by what is now a far-right pro-Trump conspiracy group that compares climate change activism to “genocide.”
    . . .
“We’re not going to be here for much long because of the climate crisis,” the woman said, addressing Ocasio-Cortez. “I think your next campaign slogan has to be this: 'We got to start eating babies.'” The woman then revealed her T-shirt, which read “Save the planet. Eat the children.”

“Even if we were to bomb Russia, we still have too many people. Too much pollution,” the woman continued. “So we have to get rid of the babies. That’s a big problem. Just stopping having babies is not enough. We need to eat the babies.”

Ocasio-Cortez then attempted to pacify the woman and address the urgency of climate change while ignoring her “eat the babies” comments.

Not just any far right group...

Ocasio-Cortez later tweeted that she was concerned the woman at the town hall was “suffering from a mental condition” and that she wanted to treat her with compassion. She also admonished right-wingers on Twitter for mocking the woman.

After the video went viral, a group called LaRouche PAC — which is affiliated with people with a long history of peddling unfounded conspiracy theories that has now turned pro-Trump — took credit for planting the woman at the town hall meeting in an attempt to “troll” Ocasio-Cortez and mock the climate change crisis.

The fringe group, founded by conspiracy theorist Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr., who died earlier this year, believes climate change is a hoax and compares carbon dioxide reduction policies to “genocide.”

“LaRouchePAC trolls AOC, AOC doesn't rule out eating babies,” the group said on Twitter.

I remember when the LaRouchies were largely associated with the Democrats. But the GOP owns all the crazies now.

When I first came across them They were calling themselves socialist.

But even then, the crazy was most prominent plank in their platform.

    Sounds about right

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_LaRouche

The LaRouche movement, has been described as a cult or cult-like by critics and anti-cult organizations.[238][239][240][241][242][243]

A 1987 article by John Mintz in The Washington Post reported that members lived hand-to-mouth in crowded apartments, their basic needs, such as a mattress and pillowcase, paid for by the movement. They worked raising money or selling newspapers for LaRouche, doing research for him, or singing in a group choir, spending almost every waking hour together.[244]

The group is known for its caustic attacks on people it opposes and former members. In the past it has justified what it refers to as "psywar techniques" as necessary to shake people up; Johnson in 1983 quoted a LaRouche associate: "We're not very nice, so we're hated. Why be nice? It's a cruel world. We're in a war and the human race is up for grabs."[245] Charles Tate, a former long-term LaRouche associate, told The Washington Post in 1987 that members see themselves as not subject to the ordinary laws of society: "They feel that the continued existence of the human race is totally dependent on what they do in the organization, that nobody would be here without LaRouche. They feel justified in a peculiar way doing anything whatsoever."[244]

What was most interesting thing about their cult was their insistence that QE2 was the head of a worldwide conspiracy.

Yep. Anybody who instantly didn't say "cray-cray" and walk away was a erspon vulnerable to joining a cult someday.

Yeah, the LaRouchies used to work the metro stop near my workplace. They were like Moonies, or Hare Krishnas at the airport used to be - handing out bizarre literature.
