I was in the stadium that night for his one and only cap. From everything I'd heard, he was meant to be a thoroughly decent guy. Nice where-are-they-now article.
Well hello there Samarkand, yes I was at that game in Giants Stadium as well so we're some of the lucky few to see the mystical Joey Jesus Lapira in action for Ireland.
I was at that game too. Funny how they couldnt find him online. I found him straight away on linkedin! As an aside we were drinking in a famous Irish bar in Astoria beforehand and with a big van outside offered anyone in the bar a lift to the game. Not one patriot took up the offer as an english club was playing in the CL final.
Yeah, I remember him. Shameless promotion but check out my football books for sale thread. I'm based in Ireland and have some Irish football books, thanks. http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/football-books-for-sale.2038744/
What a burden it must be, to be a patriot. Who would do the job? Patrolling around, making sure everyone sings the songs in the correct fashion, wears the right gear, supports the team in exactly, precisely the correct manner. And only in that manner. Aye, indeed, who would do such a job? How much does it pay anyway?
