Just think about the (liberal) TV executives who did this. Think about what they said to each other in making this choice. Think about why they did it. And then the dark, empty soul of commercial TV will be revealed to you & you’ll understand how we got Trump. https://t.co/k0InquPE5O— Lawrence O'Donnell (@Lawrence) August 21, 2019
FVck WaPo... Here is rolling stone calling out the WP (includes a response by the WP fackcheck editor) https://www.rollingstone.com/politi...bankruptcy-washington-post-fact-check-878120/ MSNBC also quotes the study. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/11/this-is-the-real-reason-most-americans-file-for-bankruptcy.html Here is NPR fact checking that 500k number, basically backrupcy is more complicated than the study makes it out to be. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...ble-health-care-claims-in-presidential-debate Here is the balance on the study https://www.thebalance.com/medical-bankruptcy-statistics-4154729 Snopes on a similar facebook meme. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/643000-bankruptcies-in-the-u-s-every-year-due-to-medical-bills/ Over all studies do have something between 25 to 50% of personal bankruptcies could be primary for medical debt, so 3 Pinocchios was probably undeserved by Sanders, maybe just one (and that is iffy as he used the max in the range, not something outside of it). Edit, there is one that says 67% are due to medial bills, so maybe Sanders is not out of the ball park.
The best/worst part of that was this... I just followed Bret’s own link. What are we doing here? https://t.co/vUoxKZFYDI pic.twitter.com/iyd2UvNcqp— southpaw (@nycsouthpaw) August 30, 2019
He gets clicks. Although he carries the prestige and weight of The Times, they and other papers are quick to say that he's simply an Opinion writer and not representative of anything when they regularly write or do something incredibly stupid. They never answer for the employment of the writers so it's always considered a business decision. Generally, that paper just fails at politics.
Nah. Brett's a snarky douchebag when writing about Trump or libs (his twin targets). He's the last thing from civil. If you want to come at him for privilege, do so for his right-wing privilege of complaining about "free speech" and triggered libs, then falling apart if somebody comes after him the way that the comes after Trump or libs.
I wonder why is that... Weird how those semantics are all coordinated. If only someone had been warning about the far right propaganda machine...Twitter won’t autoban neo-Nazis because the filters may ban GOP politicians https://t.co/JmgLHtYkh8— Stephanie "LB" 🟧 (@LincolnsBible) September 2, 2019
The terrifying part is that twitter has a bigger issue of stuff getting amplified that should not be (ie. #RIP45 about the basball player), and they are unwilling to do anything about it.

File under “Unexpected yet interesting “: The gist of the ruling is that the White House didn't provide proper guidance about what rules apply to behavior outside official briefings and press conferences and the like -- and that therefore its sanction against Karem didn't satisfy due process.— ErikWemple (@ErikWemple) September 3, 2019
Playboy has a White House correspondent? Who knew? OK, I guess that makes sense. It must be one of the most widely read publications, since every guy you ask will say that he "reads it just for the articles." OTOH, you'd think that would be the last media outlet that would get banned, since there's always the chance they could hook up the Little Lyin' Man with some female company and it wouldn't cost him $130,000.
Dem front-runner up 16 pts vs Trump in latest Q poll. if in Sept 2011 Romney was up 16 pts vs Obama, you think NYT would’ve run A1 piece claiming nobody knows why Romney’s running?.....me neither. https://t.co/OgBsb0bwbp— Eric Boehlert (@EricBoehlert) September 3, 2019
Sexist Misogynistic Media Bias: If you refer to Kirsten Dunst as “Spider-man’s girlfriend” you clearly don’t know Dick. pic.twitter.com/HvVTVOiQ89— Jesse McLaren (@McJesse) August 30, 2019 Does anyone have a more iconic IMDB than Kirsten Dunst??? Side note, but I think related -- even non-conservative media has a conservative bias. In tennis, Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils have gone public with their relationship. Both did well at the U.S. Open, advancing to the quarterfinals. When Svitolina was interviewed after her match, half the questions to her werea bout Monfils and how he must be helping her game. When Monfils was interviewed, he was barely asked about Svitolina. The irony being that Svitolina was the more likely player to make the semifinals, as she was a #5 seed and he was a #13 seed. Another irony being that two of the three interviewers who couldn't stop asking about her boyfriend after she just won a big match were female.
Women's commentators and interviewers are mostly garbage even when women. The tournament commentary has been much better than espn's teams, but the oncourt interviews are almost always cringeworthy.
