woah Angie really is facing a rebellion in her own parliamentary group. It's about the question if refugees should be sent away at the border if they dont qualify for applying for asylum. She either has to give up her policy of the last 3 years or her new government will break http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deuts...litik-von-fast-allen-verlassen-a-1212580.html
vote of confidence? https://www.bild.de/politik/inland/asylrecht/merkel-seehofer-krisentreffen-55997336.bild.html
Woah x 2 Angie about to lose her majority with important vote held tomorrow in CDU and CSU parliamentary group
Welcome to brummies "the thread title is wrong" land Currently such refugees are held in reception centers in Ger before the gov tries to return them to other member-states, eg Italy. The #CSU wants to turn them away at the border, which #Merkel insists would trigger border controls across the #EU, a domino effect. (2/4)— lnternationale Politik Quarterly (@IPQuarterly) June 14, 2018 Still, lots of time for the two sister-parties to reach a face-saving compromise. Follow BPJ over the weekend for our #asylstreit coverage. (4/4) #asylum— lnternationale Politik Quarterly (@IPQuarterly) June 14, 2018
The one part that demolishes your thesis is wrong and the rest is correct. That'snot even a logical fallacy, its just illogical. Never change,Dieter, never change...
Yep, I left it in since I was expecting you to go all through the thread and then say I deliberately left it out. The common 98% opinion is there is no room for compromise and considering topic thats reasonable. What should a compromise look like? I rest my case
some more illogical stuff The disruption The conflict with Seehofer brings Merkel very close to the end of her chancellorship. What sort of compromise is supposed to rescue her from this situation? www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/seite-drei-zum-asylstreit-in-der-union-die-zerruettung-1.4015858 An outragious political eruption The conflict is not only endangering the existence of the federal government but also substantially endangers the stability of this country https://www.welt.de/politik/deutsch...U-in-der-Asylkrise-Unerhoerte-Eskalation.html Endgame CDU is somehow still backing Merkel for the moment. But is this breakdown even fixable? http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/cdu-vs-csu-endspiel-a-1213035.html Is this a coup d'etat against Merkel? https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/polit...rin-56010346,view=conversionToLogin.bild.html Merkel is ripe for her resignation https://www.focus.de/politik/deutsc...e-deutschen-vom-unions-streit_id_9098619.html How is she supposed to get out of this? https://www.zeit.de/politik/deutschland/2018-06/unionstreit-cdu-csu-politikstil-handlungsfaehigkeit This is the final straw http://www.faz.net/aktuell/politik/...reit-das-fass-ist-uebergelaufen-15640469.html
It's amusing that the christian right are blowing up their own government over a manufactured crisis. Seems a poor strategy by them. Buried in the detail here is that countries like Italy get justifiably mad that if the refugees/migrants make landfall in Italy first, then under the Asylum rules Italy has to hear/process the case. So Germany has in fact stepped up and been taking lots of the load off the front line countries. BUT this assistance from Germany is one thing you won't hear the Italian populists mention - and in the meantime the migrant crisis is effectively over for now The problem with populists. A short story. Yesterday, Italy’s interior ministry published data on migrant arrivals. So far this year there have been 15,500 arrivals, an 80% drop compared to last year pic.twitter.com/I7qJXFl69I— Alberto Nardelli (@AlbertoNardelli) June 15, 2018 So essentially while clowns like Seehofer ignore all the facts and burn down their over government over ideology, it's clear that what really needs to happen within the EU is everyone takes their fair share because its just not tenable to drop 100% of the weight on Italy, Spain, Greece etc. But Seehofer and co are panicked over their polling in Bayern The only winner of their dumb strategy will be AfD Popcorn time.
For English speakers here is a good thread on the meltdown 1007533452328042496 is not a valid tweet id

It's disappointing that CDU/CSU are playing out political squabbles instead of getting anything useful done Of course this is also bad for SPD who need to go balls out to get some results for working people
As a little hint at the current mood: Left-liberal Stern cover has Merkel as somehwat diabolic force behind rejected asylum seeker killing 14 yo Susanna F.
Aha!! Where was Fraulein Merkel in 1990 when that other young girl was allegedly murdered? There seems to be a pattern emerging.
As I said, conservative christian leadership blowing up a manufactured crisis for internal reasons Good to see lots of people calling then out for it.
