Hopefully there's an update on Nova's injury.

I've tried the Quest chips ~1.5 years ago, they were pretty awful, though I wasn't on keto at the time.

If you have ever tried the keto diet, you'd know why those of us on it have to find others with whom to commiserate. When you find someone to talk to about it, it's kind of like running into someone in America who follows soccer as much as you do.

Is Nova the tallest field player we ever had (outside of Brooks/Gonzalez/Gooch)?

Seems like he's fit to play.

There was some real tall gangly MLS forward who played for Seattle (or was it New England) and maybe the Galaxy at some point. He won a cap or two. He was hot garbage though.

    Nate Jaqua is 6'3".

    He's an ultra-runner now.

Ultra-runners do races of distances longer than a marathon.

This is Jaqua's results page: https://ultrasignup.com/m_results_participant.aspx?fname=Nate&lname=Jaqua

He won a (ho-hum) 50K a couple of weeks ago, and won a 100-miler in Hawaii in January, with a time of 22:37:54.

So basically a competition based around who can handle boredom the best.

You scoff, but ultra-running is likely humanity's sole physical-based natural advantage. Over distances of 20 miles or so, a well trained human can out-run a horse (there's a race every year in England). The achilles is an amazing energy-return mechanism. Before our ancestors out-smarted the rest of the world, our advantage was multi-day hunts where small groups of humans (or our non-human ancestors) split animals out from the pack and just kept running at them until the other animals, which could only sprint away and not run long distance, got too tired to run anymore.

    Ultra running isn't hunting.

If Jaqua were splitting up herds of bison over 50K, spear in hand, providing food for his tribe, well that's a little less boring.

Instead he does his boring runs, then stops in at Whole Foods.

  18. Yup, they still do it in at least South Africa/Botswana. The San people that is. I saw it on a docu. Pretty amazing tbh. So as long as the animal doesnot manage to make you lose track of it, it's just keep jogging up until it just has to give up.

That would be a lot more entertaining. Add in he and his family doesn’t eat if he loses. Stakes get real then.

Exactly why I'm married today. Wife split me out from the herd and chased until I couldn't run anymore. The most exhausting 15 yards of my life.
