I love the way Andrjia plays. It's smooth. It's flashy with confidence not arrogance. It's direct towards goal but not selfish. My question.........does his style fit in the English Championship? Is he destined to return to Reading and give the Championhsip a try? I would love to see him with Eredivisie, Belgium, 1st or 2nd Bundesliga club. I could just see him getting chopped down in the Championship when you play those clubs in the bottom half of the table.
out of his 22, 6 were penalties and 6 were headers. The kid is a poacher type of a striker that knows where to be.
He's a poacher but he's also very dynamic. The goals only tell part of the story this season. He had some very influential matches where he did not score.
Fore me, the best is that he gets loaned to a top-half Eredivisie or Jupiler League side while he fully matures physically, and the either moves to Reading when they're ready to make a promotion push. Good for both parties IMO; Reading would probably get a loan feee or even his wages off their books completely, while he gets a bit more time to learn the darker arts of being a striker so he can give the more agricultural CBs that the Championship abounds with a taste of their own medicine.
You recall correctly. A lot of his early-season goals were PKs, which let to a lot of parsing of his performances with nearly everyone concluding (rightly IMO) that composure in front of goal was his major problem.
It sure did. However, it should be noted that guy, Mart Lieder, is a little older at 28-29 and has pretty much been an Eerste Divisie-lifer until now. So maybe Lieder has reached his peak or at least is close to his peak. It could be argued Andrija's ceiling maybe higher with his age.
You donot necesarily need to be the top scorer to get the better transfer. It happened before the choice of clubs were towards the second or 3d fiddle in the list.
That explains it. But Nova is not at his peak, and has a ready-made move to his home-town club, who just one year ago was inches away from EPL promotion. I think a return to Reading is a fine result.
I'm not opposed to returning to Reading and The Championship. Not at all. I'm just questioning if he's game translates to the league - if he can handle the rough and tumble nature of the teams in the bottom half of the table. Nova reminds me of someone with his height and skill set. I just can't put my finger on it. Fernando Llorente? Bas Dost?
I liked his game a lot. First guy who came to mind with the way he plays and his frame... also helps they have the same last name (nearly). If Andrija turns out anywhere near as good as Milivoje it would be a wonderful career.
So it seems ManCity has it's eyes set on a Jupiler player. They were fast tracking my suggestions https://www.gelderlander.nl/nec/city-aast-op-nec-er-groeneveld~aba6c562/ 'City aast op NEC'er Groeneveld' De City Group heeft interesse in Arnaut Groeneveld. De naam van de 21-jarige speler van NEC wordt in verband gebracht met Manchester City, dat eerder al Philippe Sandler van PEC Zwolle overnam.
As I already mentioned clubs donot simply look at who's the topscorer of this league, but also look at the other ones. Club Brugge, who play in the CL next season, just bought striker Arnaut Groeneveld from NEC, who failed to promote to the Eredivisie. He even isnot in the top 6 of the topscorer list!

Americans on the move: #USMNT forward Andrija Novakovich has joined Fortuna Sittard on a one year loan from Reading. Sittard won promotion to the Eredivisie last season through the playoff. Novakovich scored 22 goals in 38 games for Telstar (Dutch 2nd tier) on loan in 2017/18— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) June 20, 2018
Woo! Eredivisie is a great spot for him to develop.. it’s too early for the cutthroat championship/EPL.
