I'm confused about Gutman. When his loan went through, it was described as "for the USL Championship season," and every source I can find says he's still a Charlotte player. Charlotte is currently playing matches; they had a game on the 29th and have another on Thursday, but he's back in Europe to play in friendlies?

It's cool that Celtic rates him enough to do this, but I can't recall a loan where this has happened before.

Did Frankie play?! (or that other Ami, what's his name...?)

(Looks like he pitched the second half shutout... No Gutman far as I can tell). Ended 0-0

This article (interview with Gutman) basically explains that while he's still a Celtic property, he is is not only on loan but still awaiting a wort permit and therefore ineligible to play for them.

“Obviously work permits and stuff have got in my way and that still isn’t sorted. I’m on-loan to Cincinnati for the year and if I’m honest I don’t really know how the work permit stuff works.

“There are other Americans playing in Scotland and they seem to have gone over there no problem. I don’t know if you are playing for a bigger club it is maybe harder to get.

Kid needs a better agent. And maybe a primer in immigration law.

You’d think someone in his shoes would be very familiar with the work permit process.

If I had a dollar for every client who said "Just get it done, and don't bother me with the details," I'd have a significant amount of dollars.

MLS is Back, and so is Gutman's quixotic journey to Celtic.

Gutman came on for Greg Garza as a halftime sub against Columbus. It was 2-0 when he came on; it's now 4-0 with 15 minutes to play.

This is his 11th appearance for Cincinnati. They have won none of those games.

In fairness, they haven’t won many with Garza playing either

Oh yeah, not a judgment of him. That team is just abysmal.

Andrew should be returning to Celtic come January 1. Not sure he'll play much though, we'll see. Maybe he gets loaned again.

An MLS article I saw on FCC’s roster clear out a few weeks ago mentioned that they wanted to sign him permanently and are working to do so. So I highly doubt he’ll be returning to Celtic.

What's the feeling on his progress at FCC? I haven't watched them enough to have an opinion, but every time I checked their lineup, he was in, playing the full 90 most of the time.
