Atlanta's offense has been quite rough lately, I would love it if Carleton got more of a run out even if it's off the bench. But I highly doubt we see Carleton at all the rest of the season for AUFC unfortunately. Barco will be back soon and he has been the only player who has been creating good scoring opportunities for us consistently this season.
Efra Alvarez with 6 goals in 3 games https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2018/5/18/17370004/efrain-alvarez-la-galaxy-usmnt-mexico-highlights
In USL League One.............Ricardo Pepi was on 9 goals before he was promoted to the first team. Don't know how many games it was in, but not many.
I don't think there's any question that the last month or two have been a very positive trend. Any good news is a good thing at this point. Would be awesome if he turned it around.
Odds are 95% that Michael Parkhurst was talking about Andrew Carleton when he's asked about the Atlanta United teammate that's the biggest ********up... but he doesn't actually name him and says he's improving. 🚨NEW EPISODE! 🔗 https://t.co/ipplNkLzAx Episode 17 - Michael Parkhurst.@mikeparkhurst3 joins the gang to discuss all his stops in @MLS, what he intends to do in retirement, and who he thinks should win Defender of the Year! pic.twitter.com/0J6LWnBSXL— The Soccer Soup Podcast (@thesoccersoup) October 2, 2019
If you're not going to indicate the pertinent time in a lengthy video you might as well not link it. People aren't going to sift thru it. I guess for Carleton he's going to play out the final year of his contract with Atlanta, who hopes they can finally bear some fruit from showing patience with him, and then he'll go to Scandinavia/Scotland/2 BL on a free, hoping in a new environment they can extract some professionalism out of him for a future sale. Hard to envision a transfer when he didn't play in the u-20 WC (deservedly so), has shown little w/ ATL's first team, or even USL beyond a recent brief stint, and is on a 1-yr contract.
In the 33rd minute Parky talks about maybe working with youth academies when he retires because he has seen how some homegrown players do not know how to be a good professional. Then in the 54th minute he gets ask which atlanta united player is the biggest disaster. He talks about a player that rest of the team makes fun of for how much he goes out and how he spends his personal time but Parky says he will not name him because it is a younger guy.
Could be Barco too, he's got a bit of a reputation. Also this is the team that took a trophy to a strip club so who knows.
He's clearly talking about Carleton not Barco... Parkhurst says he and his teammates give the kid a hard time... that's far more likely to be a local kid who has publicly been called out and punished by multiple coaches, than a multi-millionaire who barely speaks English. In fairness he also says "he's actually turning the corner now and becoming more professional"...
