Setien is sendind lainez to the second team?

 

No, he was asked if he would rather have Lainez play in the Gold Cup or U20's this summer and he said he prefers whichever team gives him the most minutes.

Unsurprisingly Mexican media and fans took it out of context and are spazzing out now.

What's going on?
I read in many threads Lainez has to play in the second/reserve team of Betis.
Why?

 

Not betis reserve team. Setién was talking about playing with either the first (National) team (going to the gold cup) or the second (National) team (going to the U-20).

 

They lost 2-1 today. Apparently a Lainez mistake lead to a goal...

 

Lainez lost the ball leads to Real Sociedad getting the winner.

 

Pablo Barrera 2.0? Should loan him to a second div team. (doubt Betis loans player to la liga clubs)

 

Well, there's Setien's excuse to not play the kid until he's thirty.

These are learning lessons for Lainez.

The kid still have lots to learn but as long as he is able to learn and grow from this, he will be fine.

 

Strength, dribbling, speed. I hope these improve. He loses the ball way too easily.

Our players typically struggle their first season in Europe, whether they leave at 18 or 22. Lainez leaving at 18 and making these mistakes now is better then waiting 6 months or 1-2 years where he’d most likely make the same mistakes.
