No he wasn't. Being good as a left winger/midfielder is what got him to Europe in the first place. He was shit when he played as a left back.
Being young and fast got him to Europe TBH. At least in his later years, he was terrible any time he played as a left winger. He was bad as a left back also. Him as a midfielder vs him as a winger is night and day. Don't know why you lumped them together.
I lumped him being a left midfielder (left side midfielder) with him being a left winger, not him being a midfielder in general.
Well he plays best as left midfielder. Did we seriously need 2 back and forths just to clarify that? He was pretty bad as a winger, but I say that focusing on his more mature years. Speed and work rate went a long way when he was 21 at Depor. He probably would have played left back pretty well back then actually.

Real Betis star Andres Guardado to Leeds? #LUFC https://t.co/H0okcwt3Bb— Express Sport (@DExpress_Sport) December 1, 2017 Well, darn.
He's staying put. Betis started strong and they're going through a slump now. They aren't deep enough in certain positions, but they can still make a strong case for a European spot this season.
Damn. Down 0-1 to Atletico at half-time. Worse still for Andres, he picked up another yellow and will miss the next match.
Lost by the same scoreline. Guardado subbed out at the 70th minute mark with what appeared to be a groin injury. No word yet on how long he'll be out. Edit: Just noticed JRB92's post.
