Saw the highlights, Messi embarrased guardado in quite a few plays. Even got nutmegged. But what can you do against the greatest.

 

Guardado got destroyed by Messi , but it’s Messi so it’s ok. Arguably one of the better players in the history of the sport .

 

The best player in the history of the sport if you ask me.

 

Messi is on another level.. Guardado is at a very good level too and I am looking forward to seeing him on the field this WC. But if you have been paying attention for some time it has been apparent that he needs defensive cover when playing against high level teams.

Looks like Guardado scored the 2nd goal for Betis in the dying minutes. Celta ended up winning 3-2.

 

Real Betis beat Villarreal 2-1 today, Guardado went the full 90.

He wanted to get back into the game but Quique Setien made the change out of precaution because he was down. I think he was trying to kill time- he wasn't really trying to come out of the game.

The middle of the table is competitive right now. Betis stand at 8th place w 33 points. Villareal is in the fifth with 37. LPB are in 4th with 42 points, and Valencia is in 3rd w 43 points. Betis should look to capitalize against Madrid this Sunday. The good news is after that the remainder of their games are against teams in the bottom half of the table- with the exception of 2 games against Valencia and A. Madrid.
