  1. Nope, Feyenoord it will be. PSV needs to beat Ajax at home in 2017 to get the 2nd place and qualification matches for the CL. So any good Mex we Feyenoord can use out there?

  9. The match commentator said about that pass that it's something Guardado is very much capable of, but unfortunately didnot show it during the first half of the season.
It was pinpoint precise and met with excellent ballcontrol by the receiver. If I counted right it were, including the pass, 3 (or 4) contacts to put it in the goal.

    Voetbal

  19. PSV is very busy to get Siem de Jong, brother of .., ready for the confrontation in Rotterdam.

Google translate of preview of the decisive match in two weeks:
"Siem de Jong is being prepared for Feyenoord fromPSV in the coming weeks and months will need a new miracle to still achieve the aim of this football year. There may perhaps be no point lost more, given the impressive results of Feyenoord. Also allows Ajax weeks are consecutive nothing.Editors 14-02-17, 09:07
376M 0Saturday against NEC and weekends then in the all-or-nothing game against the Rotterdam PSV must win again to keep still champion voltage on the season. In this process, the presence Siem de Jong are crucial, appeared earlier. All things considered, the young man who PSV this season sportive has kept alive. His physical condition remains a problem. Last Friday, he walked back to a (slight) muscle injury in training and Saturday he hit on the closed session. FC Utrecht failed the veteran in the match squad. It seems De Jong constantly shifting tack between the packs plenty of rest and policy boundaries again to reach a higher level. Every step too many throws him back, as revealed earlier this season. Not enough training work obviously helps him no further. However, De Jong PSV so much at home that he can force something in a few minutes into the game, both by air and on the ground. The 'Supersub' this season did yesterday after the group session PSV some running exercises and was all in all an expensive mockery of a few kilometers. PSV hopes him to prepare them for the crucial clash with Feyenoord about twelve days. De Jong will almost certainly not start at the base, but can be used as a substitute in a tricky situation play a useful role. So it's already possible even decisive points in the matches against Go Ahead Eagles and SC Heerenveen and he was in the Amsterdam Arena also the savior for PSV. The team had achieved a worse outcome in any of these games, then PSV had normally been the struggle to establish the second.Even if PSV could win the next two matches of NEC and Feyenoord, is there for the Eindhoven far no reason to cheer. Two years ago, PSV had the league's position that Feyenoord have now, although it was then a bit further on. The team of Phillip Cocu admittedly lost in early 2015, the two top against Ajax and Feyenoord, but otherwise did not point off more. So PSV have nothing in their own hands and are in the title race anyway subject to a stunt team from outside the top three against Feyenoord. PSV itself might need the full price of seventeen races and that would be a historic achievement after the winter break. PSV remained in the 1987-1988 season once a full half of the season without a loss of points, even when in the months before the winter break. Under Guus Hiddink, PSV came in 1987 to 22 league victories in a row, the longest series of victories ever.De Kuip Cocu could end this month may also Jürgen Locadia again welcome in his squad. However, he must first his comeback with Young PSV and make it happen basically next Monday in a home match against NAC. PSV play that game at the Jan Louwers Stadium.

It looks like Ajax has a slightly easier programm with more home matches against difficult opponents.
This weekend however Ajax will have a tough opponent just after playing a Thursday Europa League match.
So, supposing the 3 all get wins this weekend (PSV and Feyenoord will be happy if Ajax stumbles against Vitesse), then for Ajax the best result would be of the Feyenoord - PSV match a draw. That would put PSV 2 points further away and Feyenoord back in a three points distance. For PSV it has to be a win to have a go at the title alive.

Coming sunday feb 26th 14:30 CEST the big clash in the "Kuip" against Feyenoord.
    upload_2017-2-19_23-37-57.png Feyenoord vs PSV upload_2017-2-19_23-37-57.png

Ajax coach Bosz is hoping for a PSV win, so he can gain 3 points and reduce the distance to 2 points.

It is going to be the match of the two big bosses of this season, El Ahmadi and Guardado. Both are leading their teams like generals.

Kaney, OG Junglist, SGuerrilla and 2 others repped this.
  21. Former PSV coach Aad de Mos talked on tv about the match. He lives in Eindhoven and said he talked with the club and players and everybody is aware that this match is the big one of the season. It's like a CL final for them, so important. He's only weary about the "Kuip effect" on some players. He talked about his experience as a coach visiting the "Kuip". When you drive the bus into the parking lot, you already are in a disadvantage position, due to the "Legion". The "Kuip" is terrifying, uncomparable to any stadium in the league. He expects the Mexicans to be themselves as they are used to such things in Mexico.

I as a Feyenoord fan can see Aad de Mos judgement of the mental power of Moreno and Guardado. They will suck the atmosphere in and think "Yes, this it. This is why I play football". It is like gladiators waiting to enter the arena. You stand lined up with the Feyenoord team in the corridor. You faintly hear the crowds noise and watch the stairs leading up to the pitch and the hatch shielding the stairs from the pitch. And then the hatch goes up and the thunder of the crowd hits you right in the stomach, litteraly. You go up and step on the pitch and you litteraly feel the pitch trembling under your feet. It scares the hell out of some of the PSV players, but the Mexs will look at each other and think "just like in Mexico".
This match the teams will go to the edge and over it, so decisive is it. The battle ground will be the midfield and Guardado has shown in a few matches this season that he goes over the edge if necessary to turn the table. He was lucky twice not to be red carded. Feyenoord will need to be on alert and focused from the kick off.
In short, this is the match you need to watch this weekend.

So my alternative is probably the one.

The one that has the kick off has the opportunity/advantage to dictate how the first minutes go and thus the chance to execute the desired tactical plan.
I wonder if the match will begin with a cautious probing of the opponent by both teams or that PSV will opt for a drag race start ....the full gas pedal to the metal and then let the clutch hit it. Or will Feyenoord play their intensive high energy game and try to wear out the aging Guardado by chasing the PSV midfield like a posse on the hunt?
According to Voetbal International's Iwan van Duren the two will start cautiously to prevent an early counter and knock out punch. We'll see. PSV is heading into a "Kuip" with a reception normally exclusively reserved for Ajax. They will hit a wall of Sound.
Gio has informed the players one day earlier than normal how the line up looks like. From Gio's comments one can read his preferred line up. He said Feyenoord needs to play compact and choose carefully when to press. That asks for Kuyts experience with high profile games.
PSV in the mean time is mad at the KNVB, as the Director to be of the FA wrote a clumn in which he hopes Feyenoord wins. Cocu wasnot amused:). I expect at least a red card for Guardado:D... in the 3d minute:p The VAR will be unexplainable off line at that crucial moment;)
PSV has added Locadia to the selection for the match after a satisfting hour with the reserves.
The supporters can't wait. Soccer talkshows about the match are digested with eagerness. Cartoons are going around about it:

    "Normally he hates forplay:mad:"

Since the winterbreak Guardado, according to stats from Voetbal International (sorry cannot reproduce them) Guardado is playing significantly better than before the break. It goes hand in hand with a change in tactics by Cocu. PSV plays 4-3-3, but in reality it's more a 3-4-3, because of the way the defenders play and Guardado so has more support in the midfield.
