Anderlecht champiooooooooooooooooooooooooon!!!! What a game, what a party, what a season, thank you Sporting!
Purple-White were able to take their 30th national championship title on Sunday 18th April 2010! Anderlecht won 1-2 on the pitch of their great rival for the title, Club Bruges. Thanks to this win, Sporting now have 14 points on Blue-Black and like that, the team from Brussels - there are only four more matches to be played - have an unbridgeable lead. Anderlecht managed to open the score in the top match of the sixth match day of the JPL play-offs after half an hour’s worth of play, when Jelle Van Damme put Suarez’ assist in. The one and the same Matias Suarez doubled the lead for Sporting five minutes before the final whistle, after a nice action by Lucas Biglia, and secured the victory and the title. Wesley Sonck was able to score in reply for Club Bruges during injury time.
