I doubt it will happen in this transfer window for two reasons ... they have already more than reached the limit of what they are able to sell in one transfer window .. and then he seem to be injured again, because otherwise he would surely be in the starting 11 ... it's not unusual for FCN or other Danish clubs to sell a highly talented injured player, but with all the $$ FCN have earned on the transfer market this summer, it's highly unlikely that they are also going to sell Amon ... unless of cause they think he is too injury prone to develop any further .. and in that case you should not want him to be sold to a bigger club, because then he will be much better off staying where he is and they are going to nurture his progress as much as they possible can...
Yeah. A full season or, even better, two will get him offers from the better clubs in the better leagues. A move to Mike Ashley's Newcastle won't help his development much, a move to Aston Villa could - a team that goes down with pride and fight versus a team that goes down in acrimony and chaos
Han er stadig ikke klar til at spille kampe. Ellers havde han gjort det.— FC Nordsjælland 🐯 (@FCNordsjaelland) July 29, 2019 "He is still not ready to play matches. Otherwise he would have done it."
So any idea what's going on with this guy? He barely ever plays, and when he plays he looks good, but then disappears from the 18 and there's no word around about any injury. He scored a couple of times back in April/May when he was given more minutes, got praise, and got disappeared.
It seems like Denmark, FCN or both have some hyper HIPPA on steroids practice of not releasing injury info on players. I remember reading a smidge about that during Amon’s first season...when he was injured. Frustrating for the fans, for sure
As I wrote back in April, then last year we got a new regulation regarding the privacy act (Persondataloven = Person-data-law), so FCN and any employer are not able to reveal why any of their employees are injured or sick if the person in question has not agreed to it... in fact, if you are sick or suffer from som sort of chronic or long term illness an employer is not even allowed to ask the employee what kind o illness we are talking about, if the employee do not want to reveal it. So if you call in sick, you do not actually need to tell your employer exactly why, though obviously most people do in any case. but it's not unusual that people who suffer from some sort of chronic disease which do not really affect their ability to work to a larger extend, do not tell their employer what the illness is about.
Actually the FCN coach was in the media only two days ago, rejecting all speculations about Amons future at the club, saying that he is not about to be sold and that if he was not injured he would also be playing.... But notice that the coach do not tell us exactly what is wrong or what his injury is about .. "- The status of Jonathan Amon is that he is injured right now," Flemming Pedersen told bold.dk and continued: "- This is the only reason why he is not in [the squad]. It is not because he is about to be sold, is not on good terms with the coach or what else people might speculate in." Flemming Pedersen says that Jonathan Amon probably will be back training in the coming weeks. "- He returned from the US national team with a minor injury and when he then was playing a training match in the Netherlands for our reserves, he could still feel it". "- This is why we pulled him, to monitor him. Whether it will be one or two weeks before he is back at training, I do not know, but it is within this time interval." "- A fit Jonathan Amon will always make his way to our starting lineup - there is no doubt about that," he said. https://beta.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/fcn-traener-afviser-amon-spekulationer
Many a young player have taken their turn around the trainers table, and many yet will in the years to come. Not many a promising young colt, nary a select few, despite our great hopes, see Zion. Yes I’m high, but I’m not wrong.
The explanation, however, is not that the lightning-quick and dribble-edge player has been blurred with coach Flemming Pedersen, but rather that he is holding back to make sure he is ready when he comes into action - which is probably soon. https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/superliga/fc-nordsjaelland-traener-forklarer-jonathan-amon-fravaer
They are saying that while he is excellent at sprinting, it also makes him prone to muscle injuries and so they try to monitor and adjust his training very carefully, but : "So the times when he has been away from our system and been with the national team, he has come back with some small problems [injuries], And he also did so here at the startup, where he had been with the USMNT. For us, it's about building him up. We let him play 45 minutes at our training camp against Utrecht's U21 team, but he could feel [an injury] a bit, so we chose to pull him. However, I can say that he is back in full training now" Flemming Pedersen told tipsbladet.dk. " - We need players like him in the Superliga. Players who is able to "sell" the league and make it more interesting. But it is also young people we are dealing with, and for us it is about keeping cool and not forcing anything just because we have to field the strongest team possible every weekend. It's about thinking long term,"
Oh boy, do coaches and trainers hate national team games. Must just really burn them up to send away players and have them come back broken.
Yes, but in this case, Amon seem to need to be training a bit differently than most other footballers due to his sprinting ability, which also often is the cause of the same kind of muscle injuries among sprinters in general.. perhaps they should make sure the USMNT know about this.
I was not talking about his abilities, but that they need to know that he need to be training a bit differently to prevent these muscle injuries ... because they must be doing something wrong, when he get injured every time he is training with the USMNT.
One of the first things they check in any academy or club, even in the USA, is how you run. That tells you a lot about a young player. And the medical staff about your possible future issues.
Long flights cause inflammation. That might explain why so many of our European-based players suffer injuries traveling cross the Atlantic.
In a NYT article about the Ajax academy from a few years ago, it reported that how a kid runs was (one of) the top thing that the coaches emphasize. They would consider the kid only after he/she passes the run test.
Well, I'm not saying who is really at fault and is to blame here... it could actually be Amon himself ... because according to law, FCN are not allowed to speak openly to the media about his injuries or share any knowledge about his injuries with the USMNT unless he personally allow them to do so, and so there is little they can do, unless he himself personally has agreed to it. and I don't think they really blame the USMNT coaching staff as such, but they are just saying that he need to be training a bit differently than most other footballers due to his sprinting ability and so they do their best to monitor and adjust his training very carefully, but also that he has always return injured when he has been training with the USMNT.
